I'm going to start working soon.(I'm almost 15) and I want to get my first truck in about September or October-when I'm 15 and 6 months old. What kind of truck should I get?

we live in very mountainous terrain, so a truck is sometimes required to get around here..(southwest VA)

Go with the silverado man. I have an 01 5.3 v8 with bolt ons that gets 22 mpg highway, and rides like a dream. It also has 227,000 miles on the original motor. It does not smoke, leak make nosies, and its fast still. The tranny got rebuilt, but it was used as a work truck for a long time, so thats ok.
These are fairly easy to work on, not horribly expensive, and fun to customise, and drive. I;ve put a lot of work into mine and it is a cool truck. Check out my pics of it:

I also had a 94 silverado in high school, my first truck. It had the 4.3 V6, and I sold it in 04 with over 280,000 miles on the original motor and tranny. It was very good for me, tough and reliable.
The newer silverados are not that hard to handle or park. And if driven lightly (not racing full time) they get good gas mileage, more so than the smaller ones, and especially if you get a bed cover. And this I know, I worked at a chevvy dealership. The small ones are not worth that much more.
Plus, getting a full size to start with, you learn to respect something that big quick, and you'll have no problem driving anything once you are used to it.
Im a die hard chevy girl, and that is what I suggest.
If you like the new ones, go ahead.
After all, the 07 Silverado is truck of the year for a reason.
Good luck!

If you don't have any money saved up, (it says you're about to start working) then you'll want to buy a used truck. There is no way you'll be able to afford a new truck.
I would recommend a mid 90s Chevy S10/GMC Sonoma (4x4 since you live in mountainous terrain)
I'm recommending a S10 or Sonoma because you'll be learning how to drive with it. It's usually easier to learn how to drive with a smaller vehicle, rather than a huge full size truck. You can always buy a bigger truck in a few years.

A Toyota pickup is the most reliable and most invincible thing around just about.
Unless you prefer American trucks and don't mind that they are less reliable and get worse fuel mileage. In that case, the Chevy Colorado looks alright and the Dodge Dakota is not bad either.
I would not get a full-size truck unless you REALLY need it. Compact and mid-sized trucks do better on gas and are alot easier to drive and park etc. I personally think full-size trucks are oversized for most people and are a pain in the a$$ to park anywhere other than in a field and they slurp down that $2.50 a gallon gas like it's going out of style.

I would recommend something like the Chevy S-10, there good on gas and a lot of fun to drive, I had a 1985, and I have also owned a 1995. both of them I loved, you really wont need anything more then that unless you are going to work on a farm or something that will require a lot of cargo room. my little S-10 was perfect. but try and shop around. Good luck and Drive safe.

I only picked up a KIA. that's under 15K and gets 38 mpg. The Ford concentration is likewise a great product. i decide to propose attempt utilising greater suitable value-useful autos. the adventure and convenience factor are way diverse than the F-one hundred and fifty. good fulfillment.
