Yes, we are in the last days.
That does not mean we are in the last seven years.
There is a difference.
From the Acts of the apostles, chapter 2, verse 17 mentions that Peter called this the last days.
14 ¶ But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
So it appears that Peter would tell you that the last days began with the beginning of the first century church.
What should we be looking for in the last days?
Ezekiel 38 & 39 talks about the nations that will come against Israel at Armageddon.
They are all united together except Iraq which we have dominated these last 5 years.
When the king of the north comes against Israel with these other nations, the empire of the north will be like the empire of the Selucids. That will include Iraq.
You can find information on that in Daniel chapters 1, 7, 8, 11.
There is much more, but there is not space to put it all.

Although I can't say for certain that these are the LAST days for no man knows the hour, I will say that we are seeing some Biblical Prophecies take place. I am also keeping a watchful eye on the events in the middle east because I think that many amazing things are going to start happening there. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and am therefore saved by His Grace and Mercy, so I look forward with yearning for His return! It is God's Will what is set to come next! Let us pray for those who have not come to Him!

There are 3 dispensations of time in the Bible, The Patriarchal Age, The Mosaic, and the Christian Age. In the beginning God spoke directly to the heads of the households. The Patriarchial Age, then came the Mosaic Age when God addressed Moses and the prophets, Last when Christ died on the cross, The Mosaic age ended and the Christian Age began. We have been living in the Christian Age since Christ died because the other ages have passed. There will be no more. We are living in the last days now, even tho we have no idea when God will call it all to an end. Hope this helps.

YES, Jimmy Carter will become the Antichrist aka Dajjal (8th King in Rev. 17) and he will serve another term in office after the death of Obama (7th king).
The angel Gabriel told me in Aug. 1973 when i was in Phillipsbrug, Montana that Jimmy Carter will become the Anti-Christ, and that he is going to change his name, and divorce his wife!
Obama is going to die first and then the Anti-Christ aka Dajjal who was one of the previous 7 Presidents will take his place!
Rev. 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and] the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
All 7 kings were all alive until the death of Ronald Reagan June 5, 2004 when George W. Bush was in office ;
1. Gerald Ford
2. Jimmy Carter
3. Ronald Reagan
4. George H. W. Bush
5. Bill Clinton
6. George W. Bush.... is spoken of in the present tense (and one is) because until Reagan died (June 5, 2004) all 7 were alive!
7. Barack Obama.......and one is yet to come! He will die a few days after he raises taxes!
Obama is also in Dan. 11:20
Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes [in] the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
Rev. 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

You have already gotten some really good answers, but yes we are in the last of the last days..
Israel is a nation again is one of the signs.. The no sayers just don't believe in God and so they don't believe in any kind of divine intervention.
It is happening slowly before our eyes. Society is decaying all around us and the world power is leaving the USA and going to Europe as the bible says the anti christ will come out of Europe. Don't be surprised if the USA gets attacked and completely disabled so that she can no longer be a world power. There is just too much going on to mention it all.. But it will happen..

"Go into your room and do your homework, I'll come to check you" - and you do your homework right then because you don't want to be found you with your homework unfinished.
The same is whit this "last days". If people would know that after 3000 years will be the end, they will think "oh, I can sin, I have time to be forgiven until then". But we don't know, so we are (or should be) prepared at any moment.
Some people say that current Papa is the last one, entropy of our society is increasing, nuclear weapons for crazy rulers, new glacial age or global warning, and the list goes on...

Nothing is happening now that hasn't happened in the past. The only difference is the technology. So we most definately aren't going to blow ourselves up anytime soon. Though nothing lasts forever so its only a matter of time. And, since god does not exist, humanity is going to have to accept that we're going to be the eventual cause of our own destruction. Its called taking responsibility.
So long as the religious can't learn to accept that its mankinds own respnsibility, and keep putting the responsibility on someone else, they're going to keep pushing a cop-out.
Its like a child that says their friend is the one that broke the window even though the phantom friend doesn't really exist. Its a way to avoid taking responsiblity for their own bad behavior.
Christians need to wake up and get over themselves. Its only when they learn to actually live in this world that humanity is going to stand a chance of survival.
There is no tomorrow, there is only today. Take responsibility instead of pointing your finger and saying "god did it" so you don't have to.

I'm not a Bible scholar so I dont have any passages to offer. But I meditate alot on the matter and I dont think we're close to the end of times. People will say we are because of world events but the world has been through worse in the past.

My evidences are rather personal. You will neither believe nor accept them in accordance with the prophecies. The LORD GOD revealed to me in my sleeps spanning over years the details about The True Mission of Christ. The margin of departure of Christian practice from the teachings of Jesus Christ is most alarming. Then I got one of the signs of the End: "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." Matthew 24:14. The gospel of the kingdom is well outlined in my book titled: The True Mission of Christ. It will be a testimony against all nations because, as at now, Christians are not being saved at all. What are the chances that the truth will be accepted? After all, Jesus was not accepted untill He resurrected. There is useful information on my site which also includes a blog, http://babasanyacraig.com/blog3/
Another evidence is what has been termed; 'Global Warming'. I know from my visions that Adam started life in flesh and blood on earth at the north pole. Even at that time, that region experienced 6 months of daylight and 6 months of darkness. There was no ice and the vegetation was slightly above the knee. The formation of the ice must have been due to the prolonged absence of sunlight. A proof of this is that no ice at the north pole will date earlier that 6,000 years, the time of Adam. Now, the earth is completing its full circle. In another 15 years, vegetation may begin to appear on the north pole, naturally.
