Scan the text... read the bold print and captions to pictures and cartoons...
Question yourself.. is this something I already know? If so, skip it... no need to waste time reading something you already know.
If it is something you DON'T know... then
Read the text - you might have to scan quickly through it if there is alot... you can skip the "for example" parts or "stories" the writer is trying to use to prove his/her point.
Review the questions at the end of the chapter... usually they spend three or four paragraphs highlighting the important stuff there...
Recite - yup. It helps to read out-loud to yourself... somehow "hearing" the words you are reading helps you remember it.

Remember... you are not going to score perfect... The 2nd suggestion is in the test taking itself...

Pencil in hand, start reading the questions and answering the ones you already know... sometimes, the answer to another questions is actually buried in another question somewhere...

For instance: Who was the 1st president of the United States?

and down the line, there is another question that states,

"What was the 1st thing George Washington did when he became the first president?"

Voila! You might be surprised how many times this actually happens!!!

When you are finished answering all the questions you are certain about.. then go back and eliminate the "stupid" answers... you know... the ones that don't make any sense... when you have done that, you might have two possible selections... I have discovered that my first response is usually correct!!

Only change an answer when you have discovered that you read the question wrong.. or you are absolutely SURE that the answer you are changing to is correct. Our subconscious brain usually will pick up on the right answer if we have scanned or studied the material.

Good luck. And get a better head start next time!!!!

Relax first. By stressing out you'll no longer preserve as so much expertise as you ought to. The the very first thing you ought to do is pull out notes and books. If you have got a research advisor, even larger. You ought to brush up in your chapters and read, discover predominant phrases and realize their definitions. DO this in 30 min periods after which take a holiday. If you take a look at extra you'll crush your self. Also, handiest do one field at a time. Have others quiz you while you conclude. Good good fortune, and subsequent time research earlier than hand cramming can strain you out!!! ( I realize I simply graduated institution)

well i would have advised taking notes in class and studying as you go through the material... but since you haven't i would say just read everything you can and try to remember as much as possible... my most effective method of cramming is to sleep on the book or other things that i need to know...
