you should put in 2 articles of clothing, one of yours and one of your boyfriends, be sure that you both have worn the clothing, that way they will have your body scents on them.
also, get a wind up alarm clock, the clicking is soothing and comfortng to the pup.
next week you will not hear any whining from your new pup when he goes to bed.

Puppies that whine are not nessecarily scared or missing you. At this stage, the pup needs to be walked regularly and start basic training principles. WIth regular walking, the dog will feel more secure with the world in general, and with YOU. If the pup is exercisd enough, the crate/kennel will be viewed in the way you intend it to be used... as a quiet sleeping place!

My Black Lab is 8 months old now. But when I started crate (kennel) training her, I located her crate in the room next to mine just across the hallway so she could still see and hear me. Then she knew that I was still there. That worked for me, then after a couple weeks, I gave in and let her sleep on the bed.

Time is what it's going to take. You just need to grit your teeth and be patient until this puppy learns to quieten down at night. And she will - provided you don't give in to her and let her out. They all outgrow it. Try giving her a lot of exercise in the evening - both walks and playing, do a bit of obedience - it she's exhausted she's more likely to settle down. Also, if you can keep her kennel in your bedroom it might make her feel better just being in the same room with you.

You could try a product called "Rescue Remedy" found in most health food stores. Many exibitors of show dogs give this to calm their dog down. It does help. There is also a tablet used often by the exhibitors, called "Melatonin" also found in haealth food stores.
Your puppy is young and is a breed that likes lots of attention and needs a lot of exercise. Just before going to bed, take him out for a run, that could help. And maybe give him an old blanket or pillow to lay with.

the dog has already been abandoned. try to start her in your room in a travel kennel where she can see you and slowly move the kennel farther and farther away each night (may take a few weeks) until she is where you want her. you could also try just sitting in the room with her until she falls asleep do not pay attention to her just sit in the room doing something like reading a book that will not attract her attention untilshe falls asleep try for a couple night to not respond to her even if she is howling.

You can try putting the kennel, where she can see you, with you in your bedroom, just until she adjusts to everything. Also put a towel or blanket on top of the cage. Sometimes that makes them feel more secure. She's just scared.

they are domestic dogs lately separated from their mom. Get a canines mattress or use an previous blanket in a container and they are going to probable comfortable up in there. each and every now and then a warmth water bottle, like you would use on a muscle discomfort, placed it less than that previous blanket interior the container alongside with a small ticking clock (simulates the moms heartbeat). If this fails, possibly the domestic dogs basically opt to bypass out and attend to their employer!

She is probably missing her mom and is scared.
Wrap a hot water bottle in a towel to give her something to curl up with, also give her a clock that ticks to emulate a heart beat.
After awhile she wont need these anymore.
