As others have noted, it sounds as though it could be an eyesight problem. How old is your dog? Is this a recent problem, or has it gradually appeared? I have a Husky/Shepherd mix (now about 9 years old). About a year and a half ago, I noticed that he kept bumping into a chair in the living room. I started to test whether or not he could follow a hot-dog (I moved it slowly from one side of his face to the other). He followed it half-way, and then lost the hot dog (acted as though it had vanished). We took him to the vet the next morning, and she recommended a vet ophthalmologist (yep, there are vet ophthalmologists!), so we made an appointment for the following week. By the end of that first week, my dog was having trouble going up and down stairs; it was clear that his eyes were rapidly getting worse. Long story short, my dog was ultimately diagnosed with SARDS (Sudden Acute Retinal Degeneration Syndrome), which is painless but irreversible. He was completely, 100% blind within ten days; there is nothing that can be done to prevent blindness w/ this disease, and the blindness is irreversible.

There are many reasons that a dog can go blind -- sometimes the problem shows itself gradually (as with cataracts) and sometimes the onset of blindness can happen very quickly (SARDS, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Glaucoma...). You should take your dog to the vet for an assessment (if it's something like Glaucoma, that can be very painful for the dog and needs to be treated immediately). Of course, it might *not* be an eyesight problem at all, but it's good to get it checked out, since some eye problems can be treated, if caught early enough. And if, by some slim chance, your dog *does* lose his sight (or has already lost his sight), please do not despair. It's amazing how quickly dogs adjust; many owners of blind dogs don't even realize that their dogs are blind for quite some time! Since going blind, my dog moves around a bit more slowly and cautiously, but after some small adjustments (on his part and our part), he has mapped out our home and yard and gets around beautifully. He's completely blind, but he's also happy, healthy and full of life. Good luck!

Special Ed

Sounds like a "Special Ed." candidate to me. Seriously you should take him to the vet and have him checked out. It could be any number of things. If it's something bad you wouldn't want it to get worse to the point of him suffering. It's probably something easily corrected.

I would take him to a vet to rule out any ear infections or brain abnormalities or worse this could be a major medical issue not just a "special" dog

He needs his eyes to be examined...maybe he will need implant- lenses to improove his vision. Or the poor thing is just another retard dog... that can't compute distances....Soon Maybe you will have to buy a Human for blind- Dogs to walk this dam Dog around.

It could be his eyesite, but it could also be an ear problem as that throws of his balance.

Or maybe he just goes to fast on slippery floors.

Could be eyes, or ears. Take it to the Vet and good luck.

Depends how old he is, and me might have some type of vision impairment, or runs too fast and his brakes need adjustments.
