I got this weird bump right near the side of my mouth almost touching my lip. The bump is red near the outside edges, white on the inner edges, and a little black dot smack in the middle. I'm pretty sure it's not a cold sore, cause I've never gotten a cold sore in my life. I don't know if it's a pimple or not though, because my pimples usually go away in a few days, but this has been here for two weeks!! I have tried using facial cleansers, even toothpaste (what I usually do for my pimples) but it doesn't go away. What is this and what should I do?

It is a blackhead which is like a regular pimple with some dirt giving the appearance of a head which is black. Squeeze it out and cleanse as usual. Have a great year

It sounds like it is a pimple to me, remember that food, makeup and saliva could prolong your break out. I would suggest going to the dermatologist to be safe, but usually a bit of patience is all that you need for a break out this close to your mouth. By the way, if you smoke this is another irritant that can prolong a pimple.

It may be a fungal infection which happens in areas with moisture and I have seen it in the crack of the mouth quite a few times. You can try a topical ointment for athlete's foot (which is also a fungal infection) to see if that helps, obviously a new tube. Ring worm, athlete's foot and yeast infections are all examples of fungal infections. You should probably see a doctor if it doesn't clear up soon.

Unfortunately, it sounds like either a pimple or a boil (also called a furuncle). The best thing to do it to get it checked by the doctor - especially since you say it isn't responding to your normal treatments. In the meantime, try some topical antibiotic (Polysporin) on it.

It may be a blackhead, those are pests! I had one on my face a while ago, and it just went away, but it took a long time. And, also using toothpate on pimples has been scientificaly proven that it doesn't work.

It is a cold sore, no doubt. there is stuff you can get a t the drug store that will help it go away more quickly...they really suck, and worse still. once you get em, they keep coming back...sorry..good luck to ya...it is not the end of the world but go get the drugs...

Sounds like a blackhead, but I would always see a doctor, preferrably a dermatologist since it has been two weeks that you have had it.

It could be an allergic reaction to something you are using. My suggestion, is to see a doctor just to play it safe.

Put some toothpaste on it before you go to bed. That helps a blemish I get. It dries it out.
