I'm perfectly fine at home. But it is a different story at school. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=At9aMxaYEzsVpBumPrnRDLzsy6IX?qid=20070115150916AAfaHP1
I feel so tense at school. I even get this twitching thing. I'll be sitting in class and my head suddenly jerks. Just a little bit to the side-- not all the way around or anything. It happens all the time. But usually when I'm thinking about it! I feel like every person in the class is wathcing me when it happens. (And it usually happens after the teacher finishes saying something "sperm" or "butt" or something weird. And I don't want to seem like a little kid that gets giggles over the word "sex"!) Whether or not they actually are watching me, I'm not sure of.

Why am I so uncomfortable at school? (I'm in high school by the way.) How can I relax when I'm there? I don't want to always feel like some1 is watching my every move!

Maybe you should get a massage and release some tension. Maybe you have too much stress, so if you decrease the amount of stress you have, (like getting that science project done early, for example) the twitching will stop. Of course it could be something deeper than that. Have you checked your subconscious lately? You could also try a distraction of some kind to get your mind off the twitching, like drawing in class or something. If it doesn't go away, you may want to get a doctors opinion on the twitching.

Take a few deep breaths every now and then. Maybe try writing in a personal journal about how you feel. I'd even recommend speaking with a school counselor or psychologist. That's what they're there for so take full advantage...good luck!

I was always uncomfortable in high school. Some people just are. I was on prozac, didn't do a thing. I took a year off from high school. 11th grade year. Went back 12th grade year and I was fine, finished with straight A's...maybe you just need a break?

Mind over matter. You're better off vocalizing than internalizing. Force yourself to think of something pleasant, far away from the social situation and just take a deep breath.

I think you could have social anxiety.

I have suffered from this since my own school days, though my symtoms were not the same as yours.

I think you should see a counsellor at the school and tell them how you are feeling

try taking something to ease your tension...not pills or anything like that.....a friend of mine had a similar problem in a lecture class...he would get so stressed...so he took a teether....like a teething ring...(not the liquid filled but the solid ones) and chewed on it...litterally....maybe just something....some stress relief toy or something

HI agian, lo it's me! Anyway, maybe you just need to become more comfortable with your self. Build up your self-esteem. Don't worry your probably a great person just be yourself and people will like you for who you are. And thoses who don't... honestly... who cares about them! lol

i used to have the same problem, and its self confidence related,

sit, relax, take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, and look straight ahead, looking around will attract attention to yourself:)

hope it helps
