We still talk and I can't figure out if it's an unhealthy thing or if there is still something there and that's why we can't say goodbye. He says he wants to keep a friendship with me. How do I do that?

Ending a relationship is really hard but think back to why you guys broke up in the first. Chances are, there was a really good reason for it. It's not really possible to move on if you continue to talk after the break up. It may be very possible to reconnect later on, but my advice is keep your distance for a little while and come back to it in a couple of months. But again, you broke up for a reason. Always remember those reasons. Sometimes we make decisions like breaking up but when we find ourselves getting really lonely we tend to desire that relationship again. One day you'll find a new guy and forget all about him and it won't hurt so much. But talking to him will not help you. You may think it's possible right now but if you're not together and all you can imagine is being with him again.... stop speaking to him. He might just be stringing you along. Be good to yourself.

You should just cut all ties with him. Its a very hard thing to do but id bet the last part of your relationship was just a habbit. I have been there and thought how hard this is but in time it passes and you will meet someone wholm you will want to spend the rest of your life with. I know it will be hard but being friends just keeps things going nowhere. You both dont want to say goodbye because your so used to each other.

I know from experience that the whole "I just want to be friends" doesn't really work. Because when your ex gets a new girlfriend, she's gonna say "why are you still talking to your ex, talk to me instead" and she will pressure him to stop talking to you because the new GF will feel more comfortable like that.

It's tough to move on after a good relationship. Trust me, I'm going through something like this right now. Just go find another guy and start talking to him. Get to know him and go out on a date. There are 6 billion people on this planet, the world isn't over my dear.

I recently got out of an extremely volatile relationship. If you want it to end, then distance yourself. far! lol i had to change cities to get him away from me. Just tell him you dont think its best you talk for awhile until you get over him. Doesnt mean you cant be friends later on, just not right now cause it isnt healthy.

If you really like this guy then being friends right now will be too hard.Tell him you need a chance to heal first then you may become friends later. If he can be your friend when your ready to date somebody else then the true friendship will come thru.

He's keeping you around hoping you will become his "F" buddy...every guy does this, if the girl agrees to still being "friends" that means she'll still give it up....so unless you want to look like an idiot...tell him to "F" off and never talk to him again

i know at first its hard... coz you felt like hes the guy for you... but face the reality buddy! hes not the one for you and if he is, he will surely come back to you... befrends with him is a best way to start... and if you felt like comfortable being his friend, that only means that you already moved on... so goodluck ^-^
