My cat loves to lay down, lick, play with my hair. Is there any particular reason for this behavior?

Your cat thinks you are a cat and loves you. Think of it like this...they lick each other and sleep with each other, so you are just another cat to him or her. Be happy your cat loves you so much!

I had a cat that did that. Sometimes she got really aggressive. I realized it was a particular kind of hair spray I was using. When I didn't do it, she didn't pay attention. There must be something in sprays and hair mousse that turns them on. Well, I don't mean that exactly but something certainly affects them, maybe your shampoo.

He's just grooming you like he does himself. If it bothers you, gently pick him up and tell him no, or distract him with a toy, or just cuddle him on your lap. If it doesn't bother you, then let him since it makes him happy. I have a cat who sits on the back of the sofa and cleans my hair too, it's OK with me if I'm home for the night and don't need to look good any more. I think he likes my hair spray.

Cats pretty much just want something to play with. They set it in their mind that hair is a toy and they want to play with it. All cats do it.

Its grooming. If you ever get he chance to see two cats together, they clean each others hair. Its also entertaing to them I think if you have long hair. Quite funny and tickly when they do it though.
