I met the most perfect guy. I never entended to get as close to him as I am now but now that I have feelings for him it makes my situaton worse. Im sixteen and he's twenty two. I turn seventeen this year. I love him and he loves me and he's really nice and caring. I want to be with him but I know that it's wrong in some ways. The age of consent in my state is sixteen but im still worried about whether or not I should be with him. We decided to stay close friends until im ready and I told him that that may be when im out of high school which is next yr. He said he's willing to wait but I dont know if I believe that. I dont look sixteen and im very mature but I know being with him will be difficult. If I decide to be with him is this wrong? Should I tell my parents or should I just wait until im out of school.

you're too young for a serious relationship.

Besides, you're about to go to college which offers a totally new crop of people in your dating pool going through the same experiences you are going through.

Also, when you get to college, you DON'T want to be "the girl who has a twenty something boyfriend"...who doesn't like her going to parties, meeting new people, etc...

My 2 cents.

Dont feel like he's going to leave you if you dont rush into things. If he loves you, he'll wait for you, but lets get a reality check.......he's 22, you're 16....I know it's only 6 yrs but at this point of your life it's a BIG difference. I'm 24, and I remember when I was 16 like it was yesterday.....you need to live your life and go through so many beautiful experiences that come with growing into a young adult (which he already went through), please dont let him stop you from fulfilling all this!!! You might feel like you love him....but there's a right time for everything, Trust me.

A mature 16-year-old is still pretty immature, esp. for a 22 yr old. He's kind of a pedo to be going after you, by the way.

It may be difficult, but if it is a relationship worth having it will last a year, and if you can be friends in the meantime, you will get to know one another much better by then and know if it's worth pursuing.

well if your afraid to tell your parents then your obviously not mature enough for this relationship. i dont think the age difference is a big deal. its what ever your ready for.

i think you are right to wait. if he really loves you, then he will wait too.

you are too young for him right now and the age difference is too great at this point. wait a year or two.

Sounds OK to me...
It may take a bit of patience & work from both of you but
if you really want each other, it is worth it....
