my ex and i broke up 2 weeks ago. i was supposed to wait on him, and i did. but when he wanted me back i told him i coulnd't put my heart through it again because i know what would happen. now i like this other guy, and we're getting to know each other. therefore, we call ourselves "talking" how long should i wait until i start officially "dating" him?

I'm in the same situation girl. You dont NEED to wait. I like a guy right now after a terrible break up too, and I'm going after him because I have the self-esteem to go back out there, and so do you!

seems to me you aught to shop around a bit bouncing from one guy to date exclusively will lead to the same problem get to know several guys and then think about that question again what is your hurry becoming co-dependent is not a good thing and it is brought on by too rapid choice making and then feeling trapped. slow down take you time and be sensible there are lots of Mr. rights out there.

If you're young, under 22, then move on to the new guy.

Young people should date as many people as they can to really discover themselves and try out new experiences.

You never really know yourself until you get older, and the experiences we have with people help us to find ourselves. One person can only teach you so much.

Your future husband and you will benefit from this. Plus, you'll never have to ask yourself, "what if..."

Just my 2 cents.

It's right only when you feel that he is not the rebound guy. This new guy has to be more than the fill in for the lost boyfriend, or it is unfair to him. Timing? Totally up to you. It could be 1 day or it could be 2+ months.

Try starting with him for a while, then going back to the ex so you can break both their hearts :D

Confront him in a flirty, not childish way. Say something like ' I've been telling everyone we're just talking but I wanted to know if you...' Whatever, improvise, If your a big flirt like me it'll come easilly.

Start now... I mean, you said you don't want him back...
Even if you date other men, it doesn't mean you two won't have a chance to get back together. If both of you will have feelings for each other, then you both can consider coming back together.
