Yes I can believe it . If I have said it once I 'll say it again these dogs are bred for one thing and one thing only. Fighting ,not being pets . When are people going to wake up and see the light about these dogs? How many more people have to die before something or some kind of legislation is done . Hats off to the uk for banning this breed . At least they have the sense to know that these dogs do not belong in society subjecting the owners of these dogs to lawsuits and the rest of us to a possible lifetime of healing from an attack or death by one of these dogs. I for one am sick of people singing the praises of these dogs . you would not put a loaded gun in a toddlers hand why would you subject them to a possible attack ? When will people get this? Sterlize them and let the breed die out . Sorry if I offend anybody ,but sometimes the truth hurts.

The bloke who posted this question is a champion.
This dangerous unpredictable breed and others like it shuold be SHOT ON THE SPOT ALL OF THEM
Im sick of all these hard core wankers backing the dogs as being loving pets ohhh there so caring **** that **** for a joke kill the dog and lock the owner up why would some one want such a vicious dog any way. Training them helps but not fully their still unpredictable and vicious is in theis blood lines their a fighting dog at heart THE WORD TRAINING HAS A MEANING CHUCK THE ****ING DOG IN FRONT OF A TRAIN.
ive got an idea dont feed the dog for a week and chuck the ****ing dog in a cage with the owners lets see how long they think there so loving and caring for then

Well, this is really sad, for the parents & that dog. I say the dog "also" because it is humans which have made these dogs this way. Years ago, pit bulls were really good, family oriented dogs. Then people started enter-breeding them, and they for the most part, are worthless. It's like if a brother and sister had a child, that child is going to end up with major problems! It isn't any different with animals. It truely sickens me that this has happened. What the h-ll is wrong with people anyway? Perhaps these dogs "should" be banned, but it's not the fault of the breed of that dog....it's the idiots who breed them! PERIOD!!!

You people make me SICK. I guess what they say is true..Ignorance really is bliss. OPEN YOUR EYES. Yes, these dogs were bred for their aggression. But it's their aggression with OTHER DOGS for which they were bred. Human aggression was and always will be an undesirable trait. The problem is not in MOST of these dogs. The problem lies in our society. And I believe if you can sit there and condone any dog to death simply because of their looks, you're just as horrible as the people who mistreat them and make them aggressive.
Did you know that FAR more children are killed by their parents each year than by pit bulls? There was a set of parents where I live who killed BOTH of their infant twins and both received less than 20 years of jail time.

Thought I just answered this, but I'll repost my reply....
I would hate to see Pits dissappear off the face of the earth. However, too many people have proven that they are irresponsible with them and that this is a dog that CANNOT be handled by most. At what point do we say "enough is enough"?
Preventing the breeding of an "aggressive line", as someone else called it, will never happen. People will do what they want.
In a perfect world we could stop murder, rape, kidnapping and drugs too.

I don't think it's right to outlaw a breed because the owner doesn't know how to raise an animal. This animal is just a dog and the owner is responsible for that dogs behavior now and it's future behavior. I think that we need to ban poor pet owners not poor pets it's not their fault. And anyone who is a pet owner should understand this.

No, I do not agree with you! I have 3 pit bulls, a sister who is 7 and a brother who is 3, they are the most loving dogs ever, it IS really all in how you raise them and treat them. Maybe the owners of that dog needed to learn to control and manage their dog properly, to outlaw the breed because of the owners stupidity, is stupid in its self.

Statistically, pit bulls are the preferred dog breed of people with criminal records. We don't let criminals buy guns, so why do we let them have dangerous animals?
You can raise a pit bull to be a pet, but its breeding is still that of a killer. When a pit bull feels threatened (rightly or wrongly) its instinct takes over and people die.

You just posted this "question" although I don't get what your question is/
Pit bulls can make loving pets, as long as they are trained properly, and not allowed to run free. A pit bull she be supervised outside at all times. There is no need to outlaw them, they are an animal. Next you will want to outlaw mountain lions.

The really sad thing about all this pit bull/rotweiler buisness is that they're really, really sweet dogs.
My neighbors had an old rottweiler who was the sweetest thing. He recently passed away, so they got a new one, who's also a really great dog.
The problem is, these dogs were BRED to be attack dogs- it's not their fault that's what we humans have bred them for.
Other than breeding, training is very important. These people who own the dogs that attack people- they TRAIN the dogs to be like that.
The dogs shouldn't be outlawed, they should be helped. The people who own them should be thrown in jail.
