I have a friend who is a player and I realize I cannot trust him. We have never gone out but he gave me the impression that he like me but I realize he really does not. It has been really hard to get passed because I liked him but he is so immature when it comes to women. Should I continue being friends with him? Common sense tells me not to but it would not be right. Just would like another opinion or so.

I would not want to be friends with a girl I cannot trust and risk being hurt on and on. So why should you take that same risk?

In reality you are not obligated to this person. If you do not trust him than why would you want someone like that to be your friend? All of my friends I trust and have proven over and over again that I can trust them. In fact I have friends that I hardly ever see, we really only see each other when the other person needs something, we drop whatever it is we are doing to help that person because we know that person is trust worthy and even if we live our own lives, that ability to trust is so rare now a days you do whatever you can to hold onto it. Again, you are not obligated to this person. No relationship/friendship can flourish without trust, it just doesn't work. I am not better than anyone else but there are a lot of people who I have met and decided not to spend my time with because they have either broken my trust or I just do not feel the ability to trust that person. I hope you listen to your common sense but are wise enough to seperate common sense from being judgemental. It's a very thin line sometimes. Good luck!

If common sense is telling you not to continue a friendship with him, for goodness sakes follow your common sense. Women too often ignore what their heart and mind tell them. If you feel like this friendship is causing or will cause more pain than benefit, get out of it. Be friends with men and women that you can respect and who can respect you.

well whats the problem with being friends with him? as long as you can trust him as a friend i dont see the problem. i had a friend who was a major player and he asked me out in hs. i said no even though i really liked him because i knew he would never be devoted to me the way i would want him to be - but today we are the best of friends

if you can't trust the guy, why would you be friends with him. trust is one of the major fundamentals that friendships are built on. if the guy is a player, he probably just wanted to sleep with you anyway. look back over the last year and name all the nice things that he has done for you or helped you with. if there are less than 10, get rid of him. i had to do that with one of my friends. i had known him for 4 years. when i looked back, the guy did absolutely nothing for me.

lYou have a long road ahead .I believe it's true when they say you can count your true friends on one hand.I mean a friend that will be there for you no matter what the out come.It sounds to me like this guy is not your friend not a true friend any way so I wouldn,t waste my time.I didn't meet my real friends until my 20-30's.If you cannot trust him then he is definately not a friend for you.Trust is a very big part of being a friend.

Everyone except other players will tell you the answer to your question is NO.
Being his friend to him sends a message out that you approve of his behavior.

you can still be his friend but dont keep him close. Hes just going to hurt you! He seems like a jerk me...no offense. You deserve something better if you ever need anything IM me im kind of in the same boat with an ex...

It sounds like you really want to be more than friends with him. I would steer clear, he's only going to break your heart. Human nature always wants the things they can't have, girls want to tame the 'wild' guys, ie.e. the players. Hang in therem wait for someone who genuinely does like you to come along.

I would not be friends witrh this guy anymore..he will only end up hurting u on purpose or unintentionally...i kno someone like that it only ends in feelings being hurt and anger
