A baby walks on four legs first because the first step of walking is crawling and a baby needs 4 legs(wich are 2 legs and 2 arms) to crawl.Later when the baby grows up it could walk with two legs. After alot of years the baby gets old, gets a cane and needs 3 legs to walk(meaning the cane).Oh yeah the animal that walks first on four legs, then on two, and later on three is the human because it is a type of animal!!
Hope thats right!!!

A horse! when it walks four hooves touch the ground, when it goes faster (i think a gallop?) two legs touch the ground and then when it is running three legs touch the ground. It might not be the correct answer but i definately know horses have different stepping patterns for what speed they are going.

it is not an animal, that's a riddle from Greek mythology. the answer is a guy. at the same time as he's a baby, he crawls on all fours. at the same time as he's a guy he walks on 2 feet. And at the same time as he's an previous guy he needs a cane. Thereby wanting 3 legs.

It is man. When he is first born, he crawls on his hands and knees. Later, he walks on his legs. In his twilight years, he walks with the aid of a cane.
