It is a bad idea, you don't know their intentions are. But if you decide to do meet them anyway, make sure to be somewhere public. It would be even a better idea to bring a friend with.

um no you might not want to do that I mean we don't know each other as we're speaking now. I f you do that who knows where you'll be tomorrow the NET is not a SAFE place to make FRIENDS. There was this girl who used to talk to this person on msn she was just 16 or 17 somewhere there. in the chat room she made him her boyfriend and they even married on the net (weird) next thing you know he was 50 years old and she got harassed he's in jail now. - not a urban myth saw it on the news

You've got to be really careful doing that. I suggest going with a friend and doing a GROUP date if you really want to meet. People online can be totally different in person. Better safe than sorry.
I got to know someone online and we ended up dating. He was also a good friend of my brother. So that was safe.

quite some the human beings I actually were talking to for years, sure, i'd truthfully meet in man or woman. per chance no longer in inner most, only both human beings, yet in a public position with human beings I knew round. yet i'd meet them if the prospect arose.
