The laws that exist today aren't being kept, do you think that adding another with make things right?

I think that a national survey should show the breeds most responsible for these attacks and that those breeds need to have a special permit just to own. No BYB. Yearly visits by animal control officers. It wouldn't hurt if each one had to go through a temperament test and if it fails be euthanized.

As a Master Canine Trainer and a trained dog owner, I have knowledge, experience, innate gifts that enable me to KNOW what I am doing. These insecure people that think it is cool to have an aggressive dog lunging at the end of a leash don't know that they could be holding a loaded gun in their hands.

I have trained Police dogs but they are TRAINED. I have 100% control at all times. The dogs that are the cause of these attacks are dogs that have no training and they are very unpredictable.

My dogs are registered with the county and I have signs up on my fences.

The laws do need to be changed and then ENFORCED.

No it shouldn't be a law because it wouldn't work, some of the owners would live and then they would be able to keep their vicious dog which puts others at risk. Hey but it would be great to watch the @ssholes that keep vicious dogs get bit. If it happens let me know I'll bring the popcorn.

Not once in this post did I read he was blaming the dog. He is simply saying the owner should suffer. I agree. As for killing the dog is he being unrealistic? If a dog kills a person what do you think happens? The dog is killed

Unfortunately- they only thing that will help with aggressive dogs is to stop people from breeding and to make them get a liscence to have a pet. I have had many dogs of "aggressive breeds" over the years and they are so friendly and gentle- even have been therapy dogs visiting children in the hospital.

Your idea has 2 problems- why starve the dog? it would be more fun to starve the owner....and 2, I say if the dog turns on its owner the owner deserves to die anyway- don't shoot the dog (it is not its fault) But your point is well taken!

This is a ridiculous idea its right up there with banning certain breeds of dog. It is all in the way an animal is treated. My daughter got a bite from a blblack lab because of the way the children in the family treated it she happened to do something that triggered the dog to react (it had happened to another child earlier so I know why it happened the two bitten children didn't do anything any other dog would have reacted to I didn't know before it happened to my daughter or she would have not been allowed near the dog)Is a b;ack lab a vicious animal of course not but, they like all other animals including will react due to the way they are raised. Taking the animal from the situation is better than trying to encourage a repeat incident to teach their owners a lesson hit them where it really hurts pocket book and in cases of death.. it should be a chargeable offense that you can go to a real jail for.

Dogs aren't the ones at fault here... The owners raised it like that... How would you like it if someone killed you just because you did something that you were grown up to do? No breed is of any fault... Boxers, Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are the ones that people get scared of just because of there looks... What if a Labrador came and attacked someone... They wouldn't be as scared cause the dog looks "cuter". You have a higher risk of being killed by another human than a dog... Why should a dog be put down for it's owners stupidity? Thx...

You are an idiot. I own 2 dobermans. They have a bad rap as being vicious dogs and i have to admit they are protective but they have only bitten one person and that was an ex boyfriend who hit me in front of my dogs. I trust both my dogs with my 2 kids aged under 4, but i will watch them together just in case the kids hurt the dogs. The children think they can do anything to my dobes and in most cases they can. Why dont you go hassle drink drivers instead because they kill far more people than dogs do. And its not only the dogs with a bad reputation that attack people. My son has a scar from a Jack russle(on the face). You cant blame breeds of dog you can only blame bad owners. You see people who are attacked by their pitbulls and they say "i dont understand, it was always such a good dog". Nobody is going to ADMIT that they ABUSED their dog and thats WHY it attacked them, are they. Nobody is going to admit that in an interview that other people are going to see, are they? Too many people die from all sorts of causes, its just that dog attacks make better news. More mothers accidentally or purposely kill their children every year than dogs do. Maybe you should invent a test to see if some women should have children?

Here there are about 53 a year, part of those are dogs working, police dog and gruad dogs and dogs defending thier home. # of those a year are pit bulls, 4 rotts, 3 GS the rest other breeds. There are far more people killed by cars

Are you just an idiot, or did someone force you to write that??? the dogs are vicious because of the owner. we have owned and rescued pits for 10 yrs now, and i am so sick of the people that think a "breed" is violent. yes vicious dogs should be put down, and the owner for that matter. as far as the entire breed, thats just ignorant. do some research on your violent breeds. and im sure you dont even have an actual number of the people that die from dog attacks, do you?

any kind of a dog can be trained to be viscious. its the owner that should be held reliable for the type of attack your refering. and i like the idea you mentioned about putting the owner in the cage with the dog. with one exception its the owner that gets the first bullet if he cant controll the dog.

its okay to be a gaurd canine to guard the homestead and the human beings interior - there are way too many homeinvasions now each time anyware - notwithstanding if if it bites somebody who isant a homeinvader - then the canine might properly be reported and specific euthenised - so sinse the canine did this on your presance that's actual to your benefit at this element - some transport human beings know the way it is going available for homestead protection thats way badly mandatory especially now - so i woulnt hassle approximately this - and purely attempt to coach the canine to bark at strangers as i might do besides - yet while the canine starts doing it to absolutely everyone that the canine is conscious in my view properly - then you truly've some aggresion behaviours which you will desire to adres to the canine - i'm beneficial its a sturdy canine and am beneficial your a sturdy proprietor - so dont sweat it too lots that the canine replace into attempting to guard you -
