Have a lot of a stress in my life at the moment:lack of sleep, overthinking and general/not so general day to day stuff-and nothing is going away soon!
Some friends tell me that this is a good way to relax and get some proper rest-but I am not usually into this kind of thing, and am resisting their help on it directly, but feel like i do need something for relief and release soon!
If you can help, I'd appreciate it-thank you!
Shane

try jazz, classical, reggae; something soft. dim the lights. light an incense. turn off your cell phone. lay on a floaty in the middle of the pool. go fishing. find something that you enjoy doing that fits into your time frame. beat up on a punching bag. go to the gym. find what relaxes you. read a meditation book while relaxing. everyone is different. try not to think of it as adding another activity. look at it as replacing something in your stressful life with something that destresses it.

Usually it is focussing on your own breath, feeling it come in then out, ect. basically thats it, although many people find many ways to meditate

There's something called TM, transcendental meditation that i have heard good things about. you do it after you wake and before you sleep and it relaxes and energizes you.
