For meat cookery, remember the phrase, "low and slow".
200 F wrapped with Aluminum foil cooked for 6 to 8 hours.
I'm assuming you don't have a smoker or a bbq... the link below gives a general guide on how to cook ribs. If you don't have a smoker or bbq, the oven will work. You just don't get the smokey bbq flavor.
What I would do is to put a light coating of brown mustard and sprinkle some dry run on both sides of the ribs.... place in foil, meat side up and splash in a little apple juice about 1/4 cup.
Wrap tightly in foil... place package in a baking dish to catch any juices.
Cook it at 225F (gas mark 1/4 or 100C) for 6 hours minimum.
If you like bbq sauce on top, after 6 hours, open the top of the foils, and coat with bbq sauce. Bake another hour loosely coverd with the foil.
Of course, if you cook at a higher temp, the cooking time will be reduced... I wouldn't recommend going above 325F (gas mark 3, 160C).
You can tell when the ribs are falling off the bone when the rib bones are poking out of the meat.

If you have a smoker that is the way to get the best results. . If not, boil them first, only for a little while, like maybe 20 minutes. Then cook slowly at a low temperature. The longer the better. And just mop on your sauce. Make sure it contains vinegar, because that also will help keep the meat tender.

OVEN-BARBECUED SPARE RIBS:
3 to 4 lbs. Ribs (country-style)
black pepper (season to taste)
garlic powder (season to taste)
1 lemon (sliced)
1 large onion (sliced)
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 dashes Tabasco Sauce
2 cups water
Place ribs in a large shallow roasting pan, meaty side up. (mine measures 14 x 10 1/2) Season meat with pepper and garlic powder. On each piece place a slice of unpeeled lemon, a slice of onion. Roast in a very hot oven (450 degrees) for 30 minutes. Drain grease from meat pan. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil and pour over ribs. Continue baking in moderate oven (350 degrees) until tender, about 45 minutes to an hour. Baste ribs with sauce every 15 minutes. If sauce gets thick, add more water.

That easy! Baby back are best (but expensive) regular ribs are great too this way...just separate into sections of 3 for baby back and 2 for regular. Boil in SALTED water for 45-60 minutes . Place into baking dish (glass) add your favorite sauce (lots) and cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 1 hour (or 2 at 325)..add sauce as needed to keep moist is needed....everyone loves these!

Wrap in Renolds Wrap and put a couple ice cubes in for steam. Season. Then when they're close to done, unwrap, put ribs directly on rack and put your bbq sauce on them. They'll fall off the bone.

great question. i made some just this past weekend. i boiled them in salt, pepper, garlic powder (tons of it).. until it looked pretty much done. then i stuck it in the oven, covered with barbecue sauce at 375 for about 1 1/2 hours, i also lightly put foil to cover my baking pan... it was so perfect. (these were st. louise spare ribs). just before they were done, i brushed on a tad more sauce just before it was done.. and mmm, mmm, it was yummie.

Individually wrap them in tin foil, put them in the oven for a few hours at a low temperature (about 200 degrees), and then grill them! The taste will amaze you!
