Christianity was united, just as Christ intended it to be, for 1,000 years after He ascended into heaven. The current divisions are the result of the 16th century rebellion against Christ's Church, and especially the introduction of the manmade tradition of sola scriptura, a notion the Apostles never dreamed of, nor did any Christian for the next 1,500 years. This single tradition of men - the false idea that the truth can be found by personal interpretation of early Catholic writings - guarantees conflicting beliefs, and conflicting beliefs means false beliefs, for truth cannot conflict with truth. As long as some Christians embrace this unbiblical idea, ongoing fragmentation and doctrinal chaos are certain to continue. Satan loves this situation, since it is in direct opposition to the stated will of God - "that they all may be ONE". In spite of this situation in the manmade churches, the Church Christ founded for all mankind continues in unity of belief, unity of worship and unity of administration after 2,000 years, something no human institution has ever achieved or ever will achieve. It is possible only by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, whom Christ said would guide His Church to all truth.

Dear libralove,
You have made a valid observation! Why does one denomination believe this and another believe something different? Don't they ALL have the same Bible? I think we must also ask another question....Is everyone that claims to be a "christian" really a Christian? Of course none of us can see into a person's heart, but the LORD can. He know who is truly born again and who is not. If you look at Matthew 13:24-30 the Lord gives a parable of the wheat and tares. The wheat represent children of God or "the saved." The tares represent the children of the devil or "the unredeemed." The tares and wheat grow together--they can go to church together, etc. There are unsaved that do many charitable works! But our works do not save us! Only the Lord Jesus Christ can save a person. Salvation encompasses that Jesus had to suffer the equivalent of spending eternity in hell to pay the sin penalty for someone He elects to save--what a cost! You can understand that the physical suffering Jesus endured was not what paid the sin debt! The payment for sin put upon Jesus could not be seen by the human eye--it was the fierce wrath of God Almighty.
Anyway, the "christian church" is so broken down because the Lord is no longer there (2 Thessalonians 2). Churches are now under the rulership of satan, and that is why they are so broken down. In Rev 18:4 God commands the true believers (children of God) to leave the churches.

Catholicism, I have found personally, is nothing but a huge hypocrisy.
There are some denominations of Protestantism that are a bit like that as well, but not to the degree of self-defamation as roman catholics.
I am currently an ELCA Lutheran, but was Baptized by my parents as RC. My personal experience with RC was devastating, and I can still see the repercussions it has had on my dad and his entire family as well, even to this day. It was like an occult, all that bs about sins and guilt and feeling like you really could never just be who God made you to be. It's like Catholics are too centered around perfection at the expense of a person than they are about the individual people. It's a religion you will never measure up to, and that is fatal for a lot of people. Suicide rates are highest among RC.
The different denominations of Protestants simply comes from the different beliefs, and the level of strictness concerning their "rules"...i.e. drinking, sex, marriage, sexuality, etc.

Vanity and Pride and Egotism supported by the purposes of Satan have caused the many divisions, denominations, and religions. Each was started with someone having ‘new’ or ‘special’ revelation. People like to think their group is ‘special’. God has allowed this recognizing the dangers in one universal religion that would become a political monster considering human nature.
Actually, there is not as much anger and dislike as you suggest. I am a Christian, Protestant. I have family members that are Roman Catholic and other religions. We care for and love one another. I have been an Episcopalian, Methodist, Baptist, Nazarene, and Church of Christ member at different times in my life. It is not a church or a religion that I follow. My faith is in my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and not a church or religion. This is something few people seem able to understand.
It is interesting that countries founded on the Christian faith have freely allowed other religions to flourish in their land.
I am 80 years old being treated for Colon Cancer and Prostate Cancer. My personal relationship with Jesus Christ for 55 years has given me a wonderful Peace in my heart throughout my ordeal. I live looking forward to passing over and being with Him, the love of my life.

I am a non-denominational protestant Christian, although I am looking into the Presbyterians. The reason behind much of the sects is because the churches refuse to do as the scripture says and look at all claims. Meaning that they refuse to look at evidence that opposes their view points. That was what caused the original Catholic Protestant split.
Also, splits like Arianism vs Calvinism are caused from ideas from the bible which can neither be proven nor falsified. They ignore where it says in the bible that there are some things that can't be proven and to not waist time on them.
In short, divisions are caused from not knowing the bible and practicing it.

I believe there are many truly "saved" followers of Christ found in Catholocism, Protestantism, and many of the other denominations. But I would address your question by redirecting it:
"Isn't it smart for God, knowing that human beings are diverse and come from different backgrounds, to allow his word (the Bible) to be so open to interpretation in some areas, that many people of all personalities and persuasions would be attracted to that God? In other words, if you are going to throw your net on the waters, knowing that the fabric of your net can only catch a certain type of fish, wouldn't it make more sense to throw out MANY nets of many types of fabric, so that more people can be saved?"

i'd desire to bypass on continually relating to the variations on the grounds it is one this that I even have an interest in examining. while you're finding for a church to bypass to i could propose you purely study the Bible. hit upon a church that follows what the Bible says. don't have faith every physique merely simply by fact they permit you be responsive to they are telling the certainty simply by fact even a liar will try this. the notice baptise potential to alter thoroughly on the interior and that's the reason that's written that a guy or woman would desire to be baptised to circulate into into heaven. the dipping in water is a logo of the baptism which i've got faith is significant even even though it may be understood why that's carried out. i've got faith maximum prepared faith is faulty and that's evidence from the Bible; The doctrine of the Nicolaitans exchange into pronounced interior the Apocalypse of John Revelation financial ruin 2. that's a symbolic call of a team of human beings who represents the hierarchy of a ruling class over something of the human beings, bobbing up a pecking order of fleshly management. Jesus hates this and warns the human beings to repent. that's not the question of the ministries yet particularly interior the separation of them right into a hierarchy over the human beings. This very theory exchange into taken over by the Protestants with their very own corruption of management roles and remedies. The Church of Ephesus exchange into counseled for hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans. the incorrect separation of the clergy from the laity is a huge evil in God's sight and He hates the lust for non secular ability over others. there is an ungodly non secular authority interior the Church right this moment, which isn't something better than the prideful spirit of administration, manipulation, domination and intimidation and a revolt of the rightful authority of God. be careful of wolves in sheeps outfits.

God gives us all free will to do what we want, and to believe what we want. He is a gentleman, and he will never force people to love him. You have so many denominations because people want to use their own rules when they don't like other rules, but what people don't realize is that it is not a denominational thing, it is a doctrine issue. This is the doctrine (the truth)
1. Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the true and living God
2. Jesus came to earth to die for our sins, so that we could have eternal life.
3. He rose from the dead after 3 days, and walked on the earth for 40 days doing miracles and wonders to prove to the people that he was indeed alive.
4. After the 40 days Jesus rose up towards heaven with many wittnesses, and two angels appeared there, and said to the diciples, Why are you men standing there gazing up towards heaven, don't you know that this same Jesus will return in the same manner in which he left.
5.Jesus will return in the clouds of glory to receive all those who have beleived in him in their heart and spirit. Not just their mind. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we which remain will be caught up in the air to meet the Lord, and shall ever be with the Lord. This is when he comes as a thief in the night, so to speak.
6 Jesus will later return to the earth after 7 years to sit up his earthly kingdom for 1,000 years, and Satan will be chained for all that time in the bottomless pit.
7. After this Satan will be sit loose for a short time to try the ones born during that time, and then Satan and all his angels will be cast in the pit to burn for eternity.
8. Then we shall have a new heaven and a new earth for eternity.
It has to do with the decendants of Essau and of Jacob. It had to do with one of them stealing the birthright of the other one, and it has been a fued ever since over the promised land of Israel.
The place where the dome of the rock stands is land that God gave to Abraham's decendants, but it is also claimed by Muslums who claim that Mohommad gave it to them. I may be wrong, and I will check it out, but I do know that Israel is the land promised to Abraham's decendants.
I personally don't claim any denomination. I am a christian, and I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I believe the King James Bible, and I know from personal experience, and many miracles in my life.
God the Father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit are all one, but in three different functions. It is a mystery. Jesus was with God in the beginning, and he helped create the earth and all. Read John 1-14
I do know that Jesus loves you, and that there is nothing that can seperate you from the Love of God.
If we could remember the scripture in Matt. that says whatsoever you do unto the least of them you have done it unto me. If it is good or bad you did it to him. I wish everyone could just love each other, but God is love, and if you don't know God then how can they love.
I'm not talking about how you love your kids or family and friends. I talking about how you love your neighbor. I hope this helped some.

Roman Catholic. Yes the division is the scandal of the Body of Christ. I do not dislike my Protestant brothers and sisters. We are on the journey back to One Body in Christ.
I hope for reunification soon of ALL Christianity.
Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever.

Protestant Christian.
All Christians share about 99 % of our beliefs with other Christians. The differences are pretty minor in the big scheme of things. We all believe God created everything in the universe. God loves us. He sent his son Jesus to us. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified on the cross. God raised Him from the dead. We all believe that Jesus came to earth and suffered on the cross to pay our punishment for our sins, so that we can have eternal life in heaven.
The differences are pretty small and insignificant.
