How do I get surface street directions on Yahoo Mapt?

I don't drive freeways and need to get surface street driving directions on Yahoo Maps.

I think you should use mapquest- sorry yahoo!- it's just that mapquest is usually more accurate.

from mapquest, after you select directions, there is a box to check that says avoid highways- that will give you surface street directions.

you can, just click "avoid freeways"
