So long as the tooth is otherwise sound then a porcelain veneer might be more suitable. This is a thin layer (a bit like a false fingernail) that is fixed to the front of the tooth to hide the discolouration. More information is available from lots of websites if you put 'tooth veneer' into a search engine.

Beaten means you got mauled and ganged up on while bitten means that someone bit you and literally took a piece of you. Which one is it? :)
About your tooth turning purple, it seems that it suffered too much force and has hemorrhaged. The nerve inside will eventually die too. Treatment modalities will range from root canal to extraction depending the condition of the tooth. If it has an evident fracture and is not restorable by a crown, the dentist would have to extract it and put an implant in. If the tooth is intact and just suffered trauma, root canal and an intracoronal bleach to get rid of the purplish hue is advised.
Talk to your dentist about how much the treatment will cost.

Yes it can be removed and replaced.I chipped the back off my front tooth and ended up with 1/2 a tooth. The dentist removed it and fitted a temporary false one like false teeth but it made me gag.He then fitted a permanent false tooth. It is fixed to the teeth either side with special wings and a very strong denral adhesive.I can bite into almost anything. It cost about £150.00 but that was about 10 years ago and it's still going strong.

You can get it extracted and have an implant put in instead.
How much this will cost varies enormously depending on where you live. Assuming you're in the UK, the NHS will not cover it and you will need to go private. Have a chat with your dentist to see if they can do it, and if not, if they can refer you to someone else.
If you had travel insurance for the time that you were abroad, make sure to check if this will cover the cost.
