There are LITERALLY only two outcomes for people who leave Islam: Death or total abandonment by family.
Now... ignorant naive westerners will read this and think "yea right, hes exagerrating. Must be a hater". If you havent studied Islam in some depth and live in the west you tend to have some simplistic Disneylike assumptions about humanity.
One assumption is "Most parents would never abandon their kids unless extreme poverty forced them to". While this assumption works in the non-islamic world, its the literal opposite in the Islamic world.
Listen to this claim closey. IF A PERSON LEAVES ISLAM, HE OR SHE IS CERTAIN TO LOSE HIS FAMILY. THATS A FACT IN EVERY SINGLE CASE. IF THERES AN EXCEPTION, I HAVE NEVER READ OR HEARD OF IT. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST RELIABLE PHENOMINA OF ISLAM. Now, research this claim yourself and see if I exagerrate

Im afraid this true. It is states clearly in the Quran death for apostasy:
Sura 4:89 They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,”
The hadith:
Narrated 'Abdullah:
Allah's Apostle said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims."

what do you mean when you say they have dis own you, did they said that you. On the first hand, when did they ever owned you. You are not a slave. There is a teaching in islam that muslims should not disconnect themselves to relatives as a relative. why would you feel suicidal if your parents rejected your conversion to christianity, Why don't you struggle your trials for it? Consider this a test to you or are you just not that convinced that Christianity is better in teachings and foundation than islam and you converted just for convenience

The answer is quite simple. It's because Islam is a religion of peace. Death and abandonment are both peaceful alternatives.

Quran does not give death to apostates. Although the first verses of Quran does say to 'READ'. Maybe you should read Quran. Not too many Muslims abandon their faith so you cannot generalize because the error margin would be huge.
