We have been talking for about a month, and really haven't gone on a date. I met her at the bar, and that has been the only place i have seen her. The only talking we have done is over the phone. I don't really like her for a relationship, and she is making more of an effort than I am.

One be nice. And two tell her like it is , like you told us. Put the facts on the table. How can you two be dating if you haven't been on a proper date? Tell her that you want to be friends, that is if you want to, and mean it. None of this friendship and then you don't really mean it nonsense. Just remember that people have feelings. You need to take some of the responsability for not putting in as much an effort as she does. Good luck!!!!

It doesn't really sound like there is a relationship there in the first place. I'd just be perfectly honest and say that you don't think it is going to lead anywhere so you would both be better off letting things go rather than trying to make something out of it, when there is not that kind of spark there.

Wait until she calls again and steer the conversation around to neutral things like, "If she WOULD be going out and wants to meet, would she be bringing a friend?" Then, ask for details on the friend!!! Or, you could talk about what she is looking for in a guy to see if you have a friend that might work for her...she'll get the picture that you are just friends!!! Sometime following one or both of those topics, you could tell her, "That you think that you two are FRIENDS!" That will definitely slow her down...and probably bring her to a screeching halt!

Next time you speak with her simply thank her for her interest, but tell her you don't believe the two of you are a good match, and wish her luck in the future.

You can't "break up" if you weren't dating to begin with, but you should let her know you aren't interested and not just give her the brush off.

When you're finished, pull out, slap her across the face with it and exclaim: "That's it. I'm going to take a shower...when I get back, the cab should have picked you up; I have a lot of work to finish and I think I'll be good for another week or so. Ciao!"

I think you should just tell her how you feel, you can't form a stable relationship with that kind of start.

you do not really need to break up just tell her you are not really interested in going any further ---- better to let her know now than let her have hopes
