Me and my [guy]friend hang out allll the time. I am the only girl that he really hangs out with. He has a girlfriend, but they never really talk, and she is out of the country for the year. He frequently tells me that the only reason he is still with her is because he doesn't think he'd be able to find another girlfriend "in his league". I don't know if I should take that as a compliment, insult, or nothing? Sometimes I think that maybe there is something between us...I am too scared of rejection to really do anything about it. If I get nervous I sometimes start talking about guys in general, like if a hot one came into my work or something. He gets a little quiet, but nothing extreme. I'm not worried about "ruining the friendship", since it has lived through a lot of things like this. I just don't really know where I stand, if I am being rediculous? Yet we are always together...any opinions are much appriciated.

I say go for it. I started dating my best friend who happened to be a girl and we have been together for over 2 and a half years now and we are very happy. Its a chance worth taking, because i know for me, we were both thinking for a long time that we wanted to be together before we actually got together. So i say go for it.

You have already said you are not worried about ruining the friendship so go for it.
