Well it's kinda bad because when he turns 18 next year, he's going to jail for child abuse/molestation if you & he have sex or even make out.

Fourteen is too young to go anywhere with anyone. You might go to the mall or hang out somewhere-in a group, but you are out of your mind to "date" a 17 year old. Whatg could you possibly have in common, but both of you like to make out?
If he is real sweet and not pressuring you, it's because he is getting what he needs from somewhere else.
Next year, he will be leaving to go to college, and grown up girls, who can drive and work, and spend daddy's money will be after him. You will be left out.
Try doing the bes thing you can for yourself. Study. Get involved in clubs.Get ready to be an adult. Think about the kind of adult you want to be, and what kind of MAN you want.

I wouldn't. I know he says he won't pressure you but of course he is going to say that.Three years may not seem like much but at that age, it is. When I was 14, I dated a 17 year old and it was probably one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.

i went out with a girl she was 3 years younger there is not a problem the only thing that can go wrong is if that parents don,t think it,s o,k also the law says you and he can,t be charge for have ing sex because they need to be 5 years apart from each other but it,s smarter to wait for having sex a 18 years old so you will not be a teenage mom.they jest changed that rule in Canada but if you are in the u,s,a, it law will be different and then he will be charged.but dateing is no big deal as long as you not have any form a sex including fore play. the age is fine. if he waits for you to be 18 i had a girl frind that was 3 years younger but we didn,t have sex till she was 22years old

there's a double-standard in the US--a 17 y/o guy dating a 14 y/o girl means trouble; a 14 y/o guy dating a 17 y/o girl is fine

this is mainly because guys want IT more than young girls, and he will pressure you at some point (like when he's 18, all his friends are doing it and you're 15 so it's statutory rape if you do it), so.......move on.........

You are going to do what you choose, regardless of what kind of advice you get from here. Believe you me, you will be meeting plenty of "SWEET guys who wont pressure you" for the rest of your life. However, if you want to start learning about how to keep a guy interested in you and treat you with respect, you need to learn how to stand your ground and say no when you are asked out. As hard as it may be, refuse going on a date with him. If he never asks you out again, than you know he was not that interested in you to begin with. Remember your self-worth.

A 14 yr old is too young to be dating, and a 17 yr old is nearly an adult. There SHOULD be some definite maturity differences here...

If you like someone ask them out, even if your friends say your to young. I mean what are they your mom? But your friend might have a point and you still have to decide if you want to date him or not. Think, if you want to be his girlfriend do you think it will work out in the future. I'm only 12, so I'm not sure with all that love-e dove-e stuff.

I don't think so. But be careful - 17 year olds are more experienced than 14 yos, and it's possible that you could be taken advantage of.

There is a 17 girl who likes me and I'm fourteen so I know how it is...later on in life 3 years isn't that bad..but right now you both are in two different worlds...its risky unless its true love
