I have really dark brown, and I want to put blue streaks in my hair. How can I do that without bleaching my hair? Because I've heard that bleach damages your hair. Could I just dye my hair blonde first?

Hi
You can get fantastic gels and sprays now and none perminant dyes Also there is henna which is a plant extract and comes in differant colours for light and dark hair. This is really good for hair and will make it shine however because it is a plant dye it will last for some time. Always make a skin test 24hrs before using any hair product.
Bleach ruins you hair it takes everything out of it and eventually each hair strand ends up like a drinking straw, nothing in the middle that is why it snaps off.
Hope this helps

You cannot dye dark hair blonde without bleach. Anything lighter than your natural colour will have to be chemically lightened. This is especially true for colours like blue, green, bright reds etc.(I know from experience, I had flourescent red streaks and that was the only way to do it.) The other 2 possibilities you could try would be washout colour(gel form as it is on top of your hair) or to get some extensions that are allready blue put in with your hair.(Extensions typically cos about 7$ per lock. and are made of real hair).

I had my hair dyed dark brown and then got red highlights and blonde highlights. The red did not show up as much as i hoped so it is probably better to bleach it first. You could defentaly notice it in the sun, but that was about all.

You could try dying your hair with a box dye first... but you would have to leave it in for a REALLY long time, i have never lightened my hair that way before but I know a few people who have. and unless you leave it in for a really long time its gonna come out orange and your not gonna get the results you want when you try to dye it blue( it will come out greenish, its happened to me before). And yes bleach does damage your hair after using it a lot, but if your only bleaching it once then it's not gonna make a difference the first time. Also if you want to dye with out bleaching, you could try picking colors like deep purples and reds. apply the color and cover your head with a shower cap and sleep with it in (because the dye wont actually damage your hair, you can leave it in for a long time). However, If you really want the best results, i would suggest that you bleach your hair first, the color will come out a lot better and brighter. It wont take as long as using a box dye and it wont really damage your hair that much the first time.
Also, in my opinion, Manic Panic blues come out really solid.

Firstly you should get it professionaly done. Secondly yes you can get highlights in your dark brown hair but you wont be able to get them very light unless you use the bleach. You could get a lighter brown but you most likely cant get any lighter than that. I would suggest to go and get done professionaly and have them do bleach highlights and then have them put a hair toner on it. The toner will tone down that bright blonde you get when you bleach your hair. Depending on the color you want there are many toners to acheive the color you dezire.
Hope I helped!!!!!!!!!

You can get a highlighter kit and highlight it with that. Or use peroxide. Or lemon juice and water, but that will take forever. Why don't you dye your hair blonde WHILE getting the blue straks. You can do them both at the same time.

if you have blonde hair this will naturally get bleached by the actual sun in the summer. There had been this guy in my class who had golden blonde hair that had been a medium brown near the bottom part. When he came back to school after summer vacation, it was practically platinum blonde!

Jet black hair. I have actually dark brown hair and I think dark hair looks better. I don't really like blonde hair.
