Every major study of the subject in the last 100 years has concluded that alcohol is more dangerous in almost every respect than marijuana. You can read them all at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer under Major Studies of Drugs and drug Policy. For example, see the World Health Organization report that compared them.

Actually they both have their own bad qualities and could both be harmful if over used. Even thou marijuana isn't said to be addictive, its "high" and relaxing affects are .It has a much larger quantity of natural tar than cigarettes do which does destroy the corpuscles and the little fluid bag pockets in the lungs used to process oxygen to the blood.
Alcohol thins the blood and does damage to the liver.Certain types of alcohol have a greater chance of doing damage quicker and also have other natural elements that aid in this destruction.Such as its been known that large quantity's of oak in the blood and liver can help cause blinding and hardening of the liver tissue. This is found in alcohols that are fomented in wooden oak barrels such as Bourbon whiskeys and some vodkas.

Its hard to say which is worse. Left unchecked, alcohol use will become alcoholism which will kill you in an assortment of ways, and before it does so, it very often robs you of your dignity and your loved ones and your position in society. Marijuana, on the other hand, left unchecked, will develop into a psychological addiction, cause social phobias and does worse damage to ones lungs than even cigarettes can do. Both are ultimately bad for you.

Lemme put it this way:
Getting drunk and beating your wife is MUCH more prominent than gettong stoned and beating your wife!
You're too damned lazy to beat her, you just get freaked out at the fact that her face is REALLY FRIGGEN HUGE!
lol
Nah, alcohol is tons worse for you (it pickles your liver. my uncle died of cirrhosis of the liver. HORRIBLE way to die.), unless you're talking about someone who smokes tons of pot every day.

If it's the occasional bowl/joint, there's nothing wrong with it.
IF you're doing it in the privacy of your own home, and arent stupid, and decide to go drive. If it werent illegal, I'd smoke it myself!

I personaly don't see the moral difference between smoking just to get high, and drinking just to get drunk.
I don't like either one, but I don't see a difference.
