"Choose...",
I am a Christian.
Most people I know don´t share my beliefs and I feel this a very natural thing. I am not offended!
But I know that not only Christians, but many persons that have religious, political, intellectual, etc., positions get offended when others do not agree with them.
Why I am not offended?
Because they have the right to have their own beliefs as much as I do. Also because they do not have had the same spiritual experiences which I have had.
But I must tell you one thing:
Since I am sure that Jesus way is the only way to salvation, I pray that everybody I love, every one I meet will find this way. I try to live in such a manner that they will see the light of Jesus shining in me. And, when someone gives me the opportunity to express my opinions, I share with him/her my beliefs and my experiences.
Why are some offended?
I think that it is because they self steem is very low! Because they are fanatic, may be?! Because they are not really Christians or don´t have had the experience of living LOVE!
Thank you, Choose... , for letting me share my thoughts with you and a few more!
Love from
.. a peregrine to heaven...

Offended? No. Self-righteous? Sometimes.

I don't take offense that others don't believe the way I do. However, sometimes I think myself better because I arrange my life around a belief in the God of love.

As a member of the community of believers, I apologize that some have belittled others for a lack of belief in God. Evangelism ought to be an act of compassion not derision.

No.

But I have been spiritually wounded by people cutting me off, or telling me I know nothing, in that past, and it takes a while for those wounds to heal. Just because I wanted to tell someone something new I learned Christ centered. Others can get offended if I learn something new and I shared it and then they have called me a know it all.

The Lord told me to just answer that accusation with the truth. I am not a know-it-all, but I go to the know-it-all.

Heavens no. Even Christ states that Christians will be persecuted by some of those who make their own choice not to beleive. Not offended, it is sad, but the reality is that not all will beleive.

What is interesting is that there is a sad feeling inside of the Christian for those who make the choice not to beleive. I dont think people are so much offended as they are in the realization that some choose against Christ. If you like please read, Does God Exist? in my questions answered section.

I believe people are more offended by the caustic rude stereotypical references than opposing what Christians believe is true.

Many unintelligent correspondents use inflammatory rhetoric to make a point, but lose the argument due to baseless nonfactual accusations against people of Christian belief.

No. A lot of Christians have the reputation of being zelous and ..overwhelming when it comes to religion but there really are the normal Christians who accept everyone and their religons.

I think that just goes for every other religon as well...just depends on the person.

Hello ChooseRea,

Know- I am not offended by that fact, because we all as christian have our on individuality and I would hope that we all have enough wisdom to know that people interpret scriptrue differently.

However if we want a ture understanding of what we read- then we need to pray and ask God for his interpretation.

No, I wish everyone could experience the awesome realization of God (and Jesus) that I have....but I am not offended because they do not believe....however, it does upset me when they mock...no one should mock anyone's belief....I have a very hard time understanding why some believe the way they do, but that does not negate their sincerity or give me the right to mock their belief system

Everybody seems offended by Christians... we do believe that we are saved and been guided by Jesus Christ, through Him, in Him, with Him and through the Holy Spirit...
And only people of other beliefs prosecute us, thereby, those dogs, snakes and pigs that slander and treat Him bad should recant and think more closely of the path they have chosen.
God bless those who are meek... for they shall inherits the world.
As it is written... peace.

I get offended when people assume they know WHY I believe as I do. When they assume I'm ignorant, uneducated, mentally ill, poor, oppressed, or have any ulterior motive other than I believe in the gospel because I think it's the truth.

Added: I wasn't briainwashed by my parents either. I'm not downtrodden. I don't need fire-insurance.
