Using a tampon does not affect your virginity. You are a virgin until you have sexual intercourse.

Some girls worry that if they use tampons, they will no longer be virgins. The truth is, a virgin is someone who has never had sexual intercourse. Inserting a tampon is definitely not the same as having sex!
So why do girls ask this question so often? Girls who are virgins usually have a hymen, a very thin piece of skin-like tissue that stretches partly across the opening of the vagina. A lot of people mistakenly think that a girl is still a virgin if her hymen has not been broken. Most of the time a girl's hymen breaks after having sex for the first time.
But a girl's hymen can tear in ways that have nothing to do with having sex. For example, it is possible that inserting a tampon might tear the hymen (although that usually doesn't happen). So even if a tampon does break a girl's hymen, she is still a virgin until she has had sexual intercourse.

Lol they have no idea what tey are talkign about. you are a virgin until you have sex with a man.
people define virginity in many different ways. some say that if you have oral sex you arent a virgin..some say if you break you hymen you arent a virgin and some say once you ahve intercourse you arent a vigin. other some peopole might belive differently you ARE a virgin until you have sex. when you have sex you moight break a thin layer of skin that just slighty covers the opening to your vagina. it serves no puropse really. but you may break that hymen befor you have sex such as playing a sport, a fall, or even stretching and running, and also a tampon. although its highly unlikly since tampons are small you can break you hyemn using a tampon. (hymens located on the outside of you body NOT inside like some poepl think) thats probably what your friend think. they think that if you hymen is broken your not a virgin and since tampons raraly cuase that it means you arent a virgin but they are rong. YOU ARE A VIRGIN TILL YOU HAVE SEX. lol well yea you should tell them that they are rong if they say that again. i hope this helps i tried to make it as informative as i can. :]

They may be confusing breaking your hymen with virginity. Though breaking the hymen is often associated with losing your virginity, it doesn't always go hand in hand. Many women break their hymen by doing other things such as riding a bike, horseback riding, or even putting in a tampon. Breaking your hymen does not take away your virginity. You can only lose it by having sex.
And if they are wondering, going to a gynocology and getting your check ups will not cause you to lose your virginity either. I've heard that one too.

Tampons and Sex have nothing to do with each other. Tell your friends they don't know what they are talking about!
You're a virgin until you have sex with another person. Just don't have sex while you have a tampon in.

You are a virgin until you have vaginal sex. If your hymen breaks before this (by playing sports or whatever), that doesn't make you any less a virgin, neither does using tampons.

How does using a tampon make you not a virgin? Your friends are so old-fashioned.

thats not true at all
you have to have sex in order to lose your virginity
having sex is the male putting the penis inside the vagina
using a tampon is just a female putting it in her vagina so blood stops coming out from her period
two totally different things
