everywhere i go on my computer, there's a stupid annoying message saying "this site might require adobe flash player 9..." and what not... i just wanna know what it is and what it's for before i install it... does anyone know??? HELP.

It is totally safe to install, go ahead and do that and it will not bug you anymore.

It is a player to play back flash content on a website. Most modern websites have flash somewhere on them and you will need the flash player to see it.

Once you install you will not have to do anything else but it wont bug you anymore and you will see websites properly, the way they were meant to be seen.

Whenever they come out with a new version of flash you will probably see the reminder again but it is from Adobe so it is safe to install.

It's a simple plug-in to your web browser. Perfectly harmless. Most likely needed to make the Flash created graphics show up on the page. You could be missing large portions of web pages without it.
