Why was this question directed specifically towards muslims in particular? One must first understand that what we call the universe is endless. Though scientists will say otherwise. saying that if constricts and expands on the regular. OK, I won't argue with that. But that also means that the universe has an end. I don't accept that. The universe is endless. Now if you mean each human as represented as a universe, then you can say that it constricts and expands on the regular. But most consider that to be jesus, so I guess that can function as such.
I myself always believed that there is life on other planets. I have to be a little arrogant to believe otherwise. There are a lot of solar systems out there. Just look at all of the life on this planet alone. From human beings to amoebas. From different types of bees. Yellow honey bees to japanese hornets. Different types of felines. House cats to lions. And for the human species. There are so many different type of ethnicities. "And look how the GOD has created variety. Little thanks do you give"-quran.
I was actually watching this show on the discovery channel one time and came accross something interesting. They showed how there is a whole new solar system being created. I don't know how many light years away, but it is being created as we speak. But I diagnosed that to my truith and came to my own conclusion. I don't know if you believe in GOD or not, but I do. But let's just say that on the day of resurrection, those fortunate enough to recieve HIS graces of nobility can converse as a freind(I am not talking about jesus here either). And what if one was to ask HIM, "How did you really do it?". And with HIS infinite mercy that sometimes can be so subtle responds as a freind. And a response can be like, "I won't tell you how I did it. I will show you.". And poof, HE is proving it to others right now that have gone and passed. Now a good question is, what if HE did that to the solar system we live in now and we are just next on the list? And it can work as a perfect chain throughout time. Just a thought, not the definite truth. Just my belief. PEACE!
Edit: I noticed I did not even answer your question. I believe in life on other planets. Just not in this solar system.

believing in other planets will only make you realise God's power. if you dont, thats not a big deal i think.

Well god said that he created creatures that man kind doesn't know about. so maybe.
