This is hard, I know. But I know of a woman who was raped and then gave the baby up for adoption at birth. She is a woman of far greater courage and charachter than I may ever know.

when life is taken from another, it is killing. God created that child. The rights of the fetus should be taken into account- of course since that baby cannot speak for his/herself then it is up to the woman carrying that child, to take responsibility. Abortion is not responsible. The greatest sacrifice , if she cannot raise the child would be place it for adoption. Abortion is selfish. It is done by women who want a quick fix. There are not quick fixes- God will judge, but I say, abortion is wrong in all instances- the baby should not suffer death no matter how that precious child was conceived. This does not mean I do not have empathy and sadness for the woman who was raped. I do, it is a horrible thing.

"If a woman decides to have abortion because she was raped is she a killer?" NO!
"Who decides whether abortion is killing or not?" The loudest are men for some reason. I think this is totally a woman's issue, and I have no say.
"Is this an ethical question or a religious one?" Most likely it's a question of money, as the largest, richest, loudest group is old men, spouting their speeches.
Lastly of course GOD has the final say - so live better, and protect these women. I dread hearing the horror stories of the late 60's again, of back alley midnight abortions in unsafe, unclean rooms. Americans have to protect all the advances or America will return to these historical facts, and the rich will return to going somewhere safe in other countries, as the poor suffer.
REMEMBER YOUR HISTORY.
PROTECT YOUR SELVES.
SPEAK OUT, SAVE YOUR ADVANCES!

Aborting a fetus is killing a human life. Say you are 20, but a neighbor killed you at 10. He killed the 20 year old that you would have been. If a car hit you at 5, then the car killed the you that would have been 10 and 20. Kill the fetus that you were and you kill the 5 year old, the 10 year old, and the you that now lives. I have to assume that you are glad you are alive and were not aborted while you were a fetus in your mommy's womb. We know in our gut that the evil we do, we will pay for one day. That doesn't stop us, but we do know.

I say it's killing. HOWEVER, I do believe that the woman should decide not the government. ON THE FLIP SIDE, it is NOT RIGHT to use abortion as birth control!!!!! I think its both ethical and religious therefore God will judge.

It is killing because a life is taken...it is murder because this life is defenseless.....The circumstances are irrelevant to the child....
Consider this: the mother chooses to have the baby and then 3 months later in a dark mood she smothers, drowns, or starves it......
You would be outraged...and should be. What's the difference ...really? Would a sonogram help your moral dilemma?
Or with your logic....let the woman kill the raper.....where do her rights stop and his begin? Geez.
We can leave God out of this ...actually it is a question of civilization. In a cilivilized society the strong protect the weak....What is stronger than government? What is weaker than the unborn?

We are all killers. We kill life everyday. That is nature. Plants, animals, people... something somewhere must always die in order some other things to live.
The earth's population is growing exponentially. The strain on the environment is becoming intollerable. Humans have demonstrated a total lack of forsight or concern for their rampant breeding, and its effect on the environment. At some point, we are going to overwhelm the ecosystem, and the planet itself will cull our species, either through disease (AIDS), severe weather caused by global warming, famine, or some other natural limiter.
Go ahead. Keep pumping out babies like donuts. Eventually, the problem of whether we should or should not abort births will solve itself, with little regard for your religions or your gods.

I think in this very difficult case if a woman gets abortion than its not wrong of her. I doubt very few women would have attachment with a fetus that is a result of rape. If she decides to give birth and give the child for adoption or even keep her than i think God will be very pleased with her for her courage.

I say you have no right to judge anyone till you have walked a mile in their shoes.
And even then, it is their life, not yours, so you have no right to decide for them. Let them decide what is best for them, and then let them talk it over with their Gods when they get there.
If more people would mind their own business, rather than sticking their noses in everyone elses, this world would probably be a better place for it.
Would that rapist be out walking the streets if you Born Again buttheads hadn't asked for his release because he had "become born again" in prison the first time? Or if your work/release program had kept better track of him rather than allowing him to run off and violate parole? Or, when he was a juvenile offender, if your local pastor hadn't pleaded with the court for his release "because he was a good boy gone wrong".
You folks have made a mess of it, and now you want everyone else to pay for it? I think not. Butt out of where you don't belong. Keep your "holier than thou" attitudes to yourself and learn to live in the real world.
I don't see you standing in line looking to adopt children into your home. I don't see all those "special kids" in good Christian homes, being supported by your good, kind, Christian folks. I see them in institutions for abandoned children or in state institutions for juveniles living as wards of the state, and ending up in detention centers because of lack of a good home. Or when the mother can't cope anymore the child ends up in the hospital, and everyone "tisks tisks" and blames the mother. How sporting of you all.... she was raped.... what did you do about it? How did you help her out?
Put yer money where yer mouth is, sweetie. Stop telling everyone else what they can and can not do.

Let God's Word do the judging, the penetrating and the convicting............
God says: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart (Jeremiah 1:5)
Psalms 127:3-5
Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward.
Prov. 6:16-17
There are six things the LORD hates,
yes, seven are an abomination to him;
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood;
Psalms 139:13-20 III
You formed my inmost being;
you knit me in my mother's womb.
Genesis 9:6-7
If anyone sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed;
For in the image of God has man been made.
