I'm a Marine myself...I got out of bot last year in April, when through SOI and MOS school (0311) and all that good stuff, the 1st weeks will be the hardest, of boot, not gonna lie to you...hmm, I read the book Boot, by Daniel da Cruz, i also got the movie Ears Open, Eyeballs Click. I would keep working out, start to RUN alot...you'll find out you're really not in shape...I thought i was...in phase 2 you'll be motivated...try to keep others motovated. Phase 3 was fun...you're practically there...also get contract PFC too...it helps, more cash...what MOS are you?
hmm, feel free to email me...at PeoplevsTJ@hotmail.com if you want more info!

in case you have any hazard to stay interior the Air rigidity i could % to achieve this. If not get your cost interior the army or the different branch for that rely. The Marines have the worst living situations of any branch spectacular under military. it is likewise speedy short deployments as a exchange of longer deployments with longer breaks in the previous yet another deployment. @Joe i'm surprisingly specific being an incompetent commander has not something to do with gender. i've got seen some surprisingly valueless officers and positioned lots greater inventory interior the enlisted management any day of the week. The officer software for the service is a humorous tale. maximum folk can get commissioned spectacular out of faculty without attending person-friendly wrestle training. Lead by using occasion spectacular? Bullshit.

I suggest getting in shape. Being able to do ten push-ups, does not mean you're in shape it means you can do ten push-ups. I would practice crunches,push-ups,pull ups.

Remember not to take anything other then the clothes you're wearing, No medications are allowed other then birth control. But you can take your perscription an the Military Doctor will take a look at it.

Read up on the "11 General Orders of Sentry" You will need to remember that. Once you leave basic training. You will need to know the Military Rankings, aswell. Study the rankings an the orders of sentry and get in good shape an basic training won't be so hard.

I suggest running a minimum of two miles daily, to prepare yourself. You're going to have to do more then that in basic training. Also study the COC (Code of Conduct). You also need to be able to do 3 pull ups, 40 sit ups in 2 minutes, and run 3 miles in 28:00 minutes, and more.

I am not in the USMC, yet. But in 2-3 years I will be. It's good to know information such as this ahead of time.

Keep strong. Pay attention, Obey orders.

Congrats on being a United States Marine

The few, the proud.

First of all, THANK YOU. Secondly, when you ship out to boot camp, be sure to take a rechargeable phone card with you and an address book (pocket size of course). Write to all the people in the book, because during the mental meltdown, the cards and letters from your loved ones will help you get through as well as the support of your fellow Marines. But most of all before you go, talk to your recruiter, he/she should keep you abreast of all things concerning your future career.

Your a great American. Thank You.

Be able to do 40 push ups and run 2 miles. After that its all psychologically. Think team work, team work, Help those around you and they will help you. You will remember those around you as the best friends you ever had. Go to http://www.military.com/ and they have a section on getting ready for boot camp and much more.
Good luck and Kick *** future Marine.

Oowha! US Army

I would try and learn all the stuff in your "Making a Marine" book you should of got after you went to MEPS. Mainly the General Orders, definitions, military time, rank and insignia(officer and enlisted), and get your recruiter to teach you how to drill.

If you are working out properly then you should be good to go.

Get yourself in decent physical shape...most of all get your head on straight. Expect an emotional melt down. It will be short lived, but it will happen.Don't give up......stay the course and it will all be over shortly.
Once you have earned the title, US Marine...you will be so elated that Boot Camp will be a fond memory.

Best of Luck!!! Semper Fi !! Welcome to the Corps.
