I drank under the supervision of my family on several occasions, and now that I'm about to turn 21, drinking to get drunk doesn't even appeal to me anymore. So I think that's up for the parents to decide.

Great question and I'm sure you'll get some interesting answers.
I think it's a good idea because a lot of kids naturally want to experiment with things and I'd rather they could do it in a safe environment.
Also a lot of kids need to rebel and will use alcohol as part of it - if you allow them the odd tipple at home, hopefully it will negate that particularly dangerous form of rebellion.
It's so difficult to know what is right when bringing teenagers up! Bring back the terrible two's I say !! much much easier age

Well, they wouldn't really get to know the effects if they only had small amounts. I don't think parents should encourage drinking, but I also think that if they resist is so much, their children will rebel and drink when they aren't watching. So I think in small portions, it is OK if teenagers drink so they understand that they shouldn't be getting wasted on the weekends, and that drinking is for social reasons, not for harmful reasons.

Im european and from a young age my parents made me try wine, beer which i didnt like at all, and i dont even drink that much. . I beleive if you give a very small portion Sometimes it should not make any difference. People have to learn to have common sense which i see less and less of. What is the legal age anyway, as soon as they do turn of legal age they can just drink themselves to the ground.
Common sense is the key!

i don't likely have numerous an answer to this. i exchange into under no circumstances interested in even attempting something. Alcoholism runs in my relatives, and none of them are friendly whilst under the impression of alcohol. i'm terrified to drink. even with the undeniable fact that I do experience the could sparkling up something ladedamom mentioned. In some places, to illustrate Massachusetts, it is not unlawful to drink under age 21, as long as you're on your mum and dad homestead, and the drink exchange into given to you by utilising them.

I think they should. As long as they are supervised by a parent or legal guardian then whats the problem??
of course, most teenagers are going to do it anyways, whether they have permission or not.

No. It's against the law!! If you want to know the effects of alcohol, just go to an AA meeting or speak to someone who has lost a loved one due to someone else's drinking.

No.
Giving it to you under controlled conditions would leave with you with the impression that I condone your using it, and I don't.

No. It's illegal and you should make it clear to them so they don't try it behind your back.
