It might be a form of Clindamycin....also known as Antirobe. It is a common antibiotic that works well for dental infections and abcesses. Usually given in liquid form for cats, but also comes in capsules...25mg is standard for cats.

Usually under active ingrediant is says: clindamycin HCL

It could be something totally different, but if it is I have no idea.

The vet who prescribed it certainly knows. Call his office and ask the receptionist or a vet tech.

Antibiotics are frequently given for a while after dental procedures - the scraping of plaque from the teeth can release some bacteria down the throat. If the cat had an abcessed tooth extracted then it is antibiotic for infection. My cat had something done last week which included the biopsy of jaw tissue so he had some pain medication for the weekend.

It's probably clindacyl that you've got - this is an antibiotic (clindamycin) which is good for treating infections in the mouth and also for bite abscesses.

If it is Clindamycin, then is used to treat bacterial infections. I've never heard of it being referred to as clindactyl before, though.

I think it is an antibiotic used for serious infections that don't respond to regular antibiotics.
