We have to recarpet our living room. It's about 5x4 meters. I can't find a website that will give me a quote, so in your experience/opinion, how much should it cost (we're not talking Oriental carpets here by the way). We'd be fitting it ourselves also. Or do you have any links to a website that wil give a quote?

Its all according to what budget you are on. The cheapest carpet i have seen is £2.99 a sq.metre. Its the thin cord type, does the job if you haven't got a lot of money. Then prices go up, £3.99-£4.99-£5.99 etc etc. You can also get some nice off cuts/end of rolls at a reduced price. Best just to nip round to carpet right or similar and have a browse around. This link might help you. Good Luck.

You need to go to a shop that sells carpets, as we have no idea how per square metre you want to pay, in the UK it can pay as little as £3.99 a meter, or up to £50 or more, just go to the shop with the size of the room and they will work it all out for you, Fitting it is about £50, plus parts

Go to a carpet store and see if you can get an end of roll but nobody can say how much it will cost -its a bit like how long is a piece if string. Shop around.
