I hid the fact that I was going out with this guy to my boss just so I did not hear her thoughts or comments on him (she knows him and she is a very negative person). She was out with co workers and one person said i was going out with him. She went to him started screaming y didnt you tell me you guys were going out? why didnt she tell me? Then she slammed me by saying I was a backstabber and a two faced individual *in worser terms of course.
My thought on this is it is none of her buisness, ya we went out a couple of times for drinks, but her and I never clicked. The guy I was dating was only an aquaintence to her, nothing more nothing less. What would you do?

I never feel the need to vet my boyfriends with my co-workers. Really, it was none of her business who you date, even id she knows him.

I wouldn't worry about it. The guy should know you well enough to not give her words any credit. (She's an acquaintance, your his girlfriend).

I would remain the paragon of professionalism at work. Your personal life and your work life are separate. If the boss starts screaming these things to you then report her to HR. If she doesn't, act as if you don't know about it, do your job. Maybe start looking for a new job (if feasible).

Look at it this way, it gives you a leg up in the game of office politics. You know what she's like when you're not around (and that she confuses the office life with her social life). Adjust your behavior around her accordingly.

Hope this helps

You should tell her that who you date is your business, and it really isn't professional to discuss your personal life on the job, so you are choosing not to do so.
