what medicine can i take that will help clear up hives and relieve the INTENSE itching??? is benadryl good??

Benadryl works for most people. Doctors even recommend it. But all it does is stop the allergic reaction. And it will probably make you sleepy. So, it's a quick fix and necessary, but not a long-term solution.

Internally, if you think you've ingested something you're allergic to, take Epsom Salts as a drawing laxative to remove the offending ingredient.

If the hives continue, it's good to take Burdock Root capsules or drink the tea, to cleanse the blood.

Topically, Lavender oil (pure, essential oil from pharmacy or health food store) will relieve the itch and redness.

Yes, any antihistamine will be good. I used to use a generic pill called novo phenaram. It was inexpensive in comparison to others.

Could be shingles which is a form of herpes and you should see your doctor.
