How can you tell if a guy is serious when he says he loves you?

It's very hard to tell. If a relationship has built up to that point, sometimes a guy will tell you that he is serious after he says it and how much your relationship means to him and ask you how you feel about him saying it. Then, you'll know he doesn't take saying that lightly and he is probably serious.

If you've just met someone and he says that to you, be cautious. He might be looking to get something out of you, like sex, or he might be unstable and the relationship could turn sour just as quickly as he made it serious by telling you he loves you.

I don't really know, I never actually believe it when a guy tells me he loves me. But, just to see how much they are paying attention to me. I close my eye lids and ask what color is my eyes?
