The claims should have been filed immediately by your employer. And the doctor who first treated you should have filed a physicians report with Workers Comp. But generally it will take 2 weeks to a month, depending on the complexity. They will pay interest on late payments, if they judge your claim valid though.

You should get a call from an adjuster within two days after your employer has filed the claim. Did you go to the doctor? If not, the employer may have filed "for notice only" on the claim, and until you bring them a doctor bill, it won't "activate".

If you've been out of work the entire time and/or have a lot of medical bills, well, I'd strongly suspect the employer didn't notify the carrier, as LOST TIME claims are usually responded to even faster. Ask the employer for the claim number and adjuster name, so you can call them.

It all depends on what state you live in. Almost every state has different laws regarding worker's comp.
