Actually the question Jim is referring to was 'How old are you?
Notice what the proper answer should be.
John 8:58:
"I am" in John's Gospel
The Expository Times, 1996, page 302 by Kenneth Mckay.
"The verb 'to be' is used differently, in what is presumably its basic meaning of 'be in existence', in John 8:58: prin Abraam genesthai ego eimi, which would be most naturally translated 'I have been in existence since before Abraham was born', if it were not for the obsession with the simple words 'I am'. If we take the Greek words in their natural meaning, as we surely should, the claim to have been in existence for so long is in itself a staggering one, quite enough to provoke the crowd's violent reaction."
When accused of being god,
Jesus answered at John 10:36 do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?
Even Jehovah at Matt 3:17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”
Satan blinds people into believing that Jesus is more than the image of God.
2 Cor 4:4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.
Who is Jesus, He is the only begotten Son, of Jehovah God.

Well, the short answer would be he is The Christ, the son of the Living God, and the Saviour of Mankind. The long answer is found in the Gospels. I would start with Mark's account, becuase it gives you a nice quick overview.
