So how does the whole procedure go? And is it easy to clean? On a scale of 1-10 what's the pain level of getting it pierced?

OH YEAH...does anyone know the age you have to be in Oklahoma WITH parental consent?

it is iver really fast, scale, like 3 and it doesn't last, swelling is different for different people, could be a few days or a couple weeks, just mouthwash after everything u eat and everytime you smoke and follow the piercers' advice and you should be fine.

I did this myself years ago. The actual piercing is practically painless, just a weird feeling. The recovery part is another story, your tongue will swell and you'll have a hard time talking due to this effect, it should be over in a week or so.
Once you pass this you'll practically forget you have it (other than the actual constant playing with it). Just watch out if you sneeze (it can get painful when hitting your teeth).
Once you get bored of it the tongue will heal quite fast, in a year you won't be able to notice the hole.

There is no limit in age (if you have parental consent, otherwise you have to be 18)

Its a really fast procedure. I had it done twice. The needle goes in and the ring is put in and its all over. The swelling isn't that bad a lasts for a few days. You have to gargle after you eat everyday. I'd say the pain level is about a 6.

I went to a place that was "the" place to go in the city I was living in, because it was highly reccomended. The man who did it joked with me and handed me a piece of gauze to hold under my chin. He said, "this is for all the blood..." Yeah, I thought I was gonna trip. Anyway, this guy was like a surgeon, as if he had gone to school for 8 years for this. It went up through, from the bottom of my tounge in a split-second, and I was like, "is that it?" and he was like, "lemmie just screw the ball on and you're done." It was THE MOST PAINLESS piercing I've ever gotten. My navel hurt worse. Just make sure you follow all of the care instructions until it's FULLY healed. Trust me, this is one piercing you don't want to get infected, I had a friend who did it himself and it was nasty.

I really don't know if many people know this or not. It is not actually very safe to pierce your tonque at all. Your main Facial nerve runs under the bottom of your tongue. If you damage that nerve you will lose partial or all movement and feeling in your face. Is that a chance you want to take?

It does not hurt at all. Takes 20 seconds and its over. It is easy to keep clean. You wont have any problems.

In addition to the risk of nerve damage just mentioned, you can also cause serious and permanent damage to your teeth. The metal slowly rubs down the enamel and bone, it can also crack your teeth. A friend who had hers for a couple of years just had to remove it, and is in the process of paying thousands to fix the damage done to her teeth, it just doesn't seem worth it.

better to pierce your eyebrow - it looks nicer too
or try for something more retro... like a bone through your nose? that one is apparently on the painful side though.... like 8 or 9
