I think a black and white with red theme would be so hot! Do everything black and white and them throw in a few red accesories for some punch of color- totally classic and cute for a bachelors kitchen!

good accent colors for the black/white scheme are olive green and brick red. chrome and stainless steel are good for hardware, light fixtures, faucets. A stainless steel countertop (if it in your budget) would look fantastic. black and white tile can work with a few styles equally well: retro(50s diner), classic, modern, bistro.the personality of your client should dictate which way you go.
modern/urban: black or stainless countertop, black or stainless appliances, minimal accessories, straight lines, squares as opposed to curves in all accessories and decor. a few canes of bamboo in a tubular chrome vase, for example. some b/w Ansel Adams photos in black or aluminum frames for the walls. aluminum track lighting. wall color could be pure white or any shade of tan. this is a style that has some elements of Japanese, some of urban loft.this is a great style for a calm personality, who is somewhat of a loner and doesnt do too much entertaining.
retro: use red and chrome as accessory color. a couple of soda fountain bar stools in chrome and black or red vinyl. coca cola signs and other 50s themes would be good for walls. neon light fixtures work well as decor. Art deco pieces look particularily good in this kind of space. This is an all-American look, good for someone who's outgoing and does a lot of partying.
classic: i doubt if this look would appeal to a bachelor, especially if he's under 35.
bistro: this is a more cluttered and eclectic style, good for a guy who loves to cook and spends a lot of time in his kitchen. some vintage posters (coffee, espresso, cappuccino themed) on the walls is a good start. olive green is a perfect color for the walls. brick red is a great accent and should be reflected in the colors of the artwork. A few red small appliances (toaster, kettle, blender etc.) works well. a lot of hanging plants, garlic ropes, pepper ropes, etc. gives an authentic feel to the bistro theme. a small bistro table and 2 or 3 chairs. pots of herbs on the window sills are nice to look at, and practical for the chef. stainless or black would be a good choice for the countertop. fixtures and hardware should not be modern. a little rustic is best. A cappaccino or espresso machine would look great in this kitchen. i would suggest doing the floor in black and white checkerboard tile to mimic the backsplash (self-stick tiles are cheap and easy to install) if there is a hardwood floor, then i would use it as is. wooden shutters painted black or white are a good window covering choice.

How about racing or sports or something the guys interested in. What color are the appliances? what color is the walls? Floors? Black and white kitchens are great but the cabinets are going to be the real battle in solids unless you can find b/w cabinets.
Just remember the more manly you make it look the longer the guy may stay single due to fact of much work it would take to change it,
Good Luck

If you need to ask you shouldn't be decorating anything. Leave it up to the bachelor. He will be to blame for how it looks.
