Im always so stressed out because the rapture could happen at any moment that its practically impossible for me to read the bible because I have this feeling of being rushed all the time. I've never been able to read through the whole bible before and I envy the people that have done that and the people that have a strong relationship with Jesus because I dont have that yet and when the rapture happens they will have HAD that. BY THE WAY IF YOU'RE WONDERING IM 17 YRS OLD.

No one said that you have to read the entire Bible before having a relationship with Christ. Accept His grace and forgiveness and read the Bible every day you are still breathing in.

A relationship with Jesus develops over time---like any other--after you're born again. We're all a work in progress. The Rapture isn't supposed to cause us to be afraid, it's supposed to be acomfort to us. As far as reading the Bible, what works best for me is getting up a bit earlier in the morning to read the Bible & pray--makes the whole day better. God bless you & give you peace.

Also, if you are an avid reader and can read other books all the time, but not the Bible. Try to read the Bible like a novel. It is a story if you notice, one large novel about various people, things, and happenings.

I am reading mine like a novel, and I have found I don't feel as pressured to read it through. Once I read it through once, I read it again and again. This way I got more out of it each time.

And remember, reading your Bible will not make you go in the rapture. It is what you think upon and how you react in times of test, trials, and temptation, that will untimately see you to Heaven. Read it at your own pace, and I know God will Bless your time reading it.

And REMEMBER ... Fear is not of God. That is Satan trying to distract you so you won't read it honey.

Ok- God looks at the heart- it does not mean you have read through the whole bible to have a close relationship with Him. Just read and study as you can. God only will hold you accountable for what you know, not what you do not. Whenever the rapture happens, you will see the one that the Bible points too- when you see Him face to face you will not worry so much. Remember God loves you. He wants a personal relationship with you. Live every day for His glory. Let me tell you, I know people who can memorize whole books of the bible, but then see their lives and it does not add up. Allow God to minister to you as you read portions of scripture. It is a good idea to read through the whole bible, do not misunderstand me, but it is not mandatory for salvation or a closeness with God. One verse God can use to draw Him closer to you, if you are open to it, I love to see young people wanting a close relationship with Him. Do not be stressed, just live each day for His glory and you will be fine.

Take a deep breath and relax. You sound like a fanatic's apprentice. The Rapture scenarios are skating on very thin theological ice. Think about it. Do you leave the windows open so you don't rapture through broken glass? At age 17 you're very impressionable -- trust me on that, I've been there. Chances are that in ten or twenty years you'll look back on your rapture hysteria and laugh.

First let me say, calm down and take a deep breath! All I know is, Jesus is coming back, we just don't know for sure how or when. I don't agree or believe in rushing, pressuring, or scaring people into heaven. Sure, the time is now to believe, but just because you didn't read the whole Scriptures doesn't mean you won't get in. It's definitely not about who knows how much about what Bible verse! There are non Christians who know the Bible better than Christians, and vice versa, but God doesn't usually mind what or how much you KNOW. It's what you believe!! Your faith, even as small as a mustard seed, is what He looks at. The Son died to save us from sin and mistakes, so He stands in the way, our Advocate who answers for us. HTH! 1 Cor 15:52 tells us that:
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (KJV)

Since we're still in the 3rd or 4th seal of Revelation 6, we have quite a while to wait before the "last trump" sounds and the resurrection occurs.

Stop worrying, you may live out the remainder of your life before the last trump sounds.

Relax and read the Bible.

The best way to read the Bible is to read every day:
One chapter beginning in Genesis.
Read one chapter from Proverbs (there's 31 chapters, so you could read the "Proverb of the day")
One chapter from the New Testament.

If you do this, you'll finish the Bible in two years.

Best to read in the morning so you have something to meditate on during the day.

Take a breath! First of all, remember that Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow, that today has enough trouble of its own. Take Him at His word. Don't worry about later today, even, or the next day. We are given today only, to read His word, to think about it, to go out and live it, to be kind and merciful, all those things. Pray to God for Him to calm you down and give you patience and trust that you don't need to worry or be anxious. He will give you these things if you ask.

The first step is to accept Jesus as your personal savior and be born again into His family. There are plenty of people in the Christian community who would love to help you with this. I suggest talking to your pastor or some other adult you trust. After that, you'll find that things gradually fall into place, and you'll grow to love Him. These things don't happen overnight, so don't feel bad. It took me awhile too. :)
