The shortest way to explain the OT and NT is this, called the GOSPEL Journey

God created us to be with him (Genesis 1,2)

Our sins separate us from God (Genesis 3)

Sins can't be removed by good deeds. (Genesis 4-Malachi 4)

Paying the price for our sins, Jesus died and rose again (Matthew-Luke)

Everyone who trusts in Him (aka Jesus, God) has eternal life (John-Jude)

Life (eternal life) bsically means we will be with Jesus in heaven forever (Revelation)

Basically, the Old Testament tells us how we aren't perfect, and predicts the Messiah's coming. The New Testament is about Him coming, dying, rising again, and the spread of the Good News (aka the Gospel)

Does that help? if u have questions, email me at jesusfreak9768@yahoo.com .

The Tanach (Christianity's "Old Testament") is the story of God and His covenant with His chosen people, Israel. There are 613 laws for Jews and 7 Noahide laws for all the other nations. All the righteous of the nations have a share in the world to come.

The New Testament is about Jesus and how he died an excrutiatingly painful death to atone for Christian's sins. All others are condemned to eternal damnation.

Old Testament books are a mixture of a storyline history of Israel, and also includes the Poetic Books, and a series of Prophetic books calling Israel back into fellowship with God.

New Testament begins with the four gospels of Jesus. They are about his life and ministry and sacrifice and his divinity. The rest of the books are epistles and writings to different parts of the world written by Apostles spreading the news of the gospel and further instilling God's Word, etc.

It's all bs, put together by the early "church" in order to control an empire. So many books left out and so many put in not by God but by powerful people who got thier power based on money and murder. Also old testament is full of murder, and revenge while the new testament is full of peace and love, and neither mention the other. Not something I can grasp really, why so many don't understand what they are reading. God of punishment and love, sounds like an abusive husband to me.

The Lord had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. 2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." (Genesis 12:1-3)

This theme is carried through both the Old and New Testament. The fulfillment of this promise was done through the seed of Abraham in the birth of Jesus Christ. Every nation/person that believes in Him will be blessed.
