I've been using it for about one or two years. I think it is a good product just a little expensive. I've used other generic brands (like Acnefree kit in CVS) that are cheaper but not as effective. I believe drinking lots of water helps with clear skin also. If you decide to go with ProActiv, go on Ebay to buy any refills. It's cheaper. Good luck

Proactive is chemically based- I know of people who had a really bad reaction and it messed up their skin more than when they started- I also have seen some that it worked really well on to begin with but after a few months of use it had no effect.
The person who had a really bad reaction and her skin got worse began using Aloette- they have a system that is similar "their answer to" Procative but it is all natural and very nourishing to oyur skin. She has one of the most beautiful complexions I have seen. She has been using the Aloette for a long time now and still has wonderful results.
I considered getting Proactive in the past but I could not afford it, after researching and talking to people who use different products, when I am able to afford it, I will be using the Aloette rather than Proactive.

The pros is that is works for some people to clear up acne. The cons is that it is the same stuff, benzoyl peroxide, as all the other acne medications on the market that you can purchase for a fraction of the price.

I tried it... didn't work. I tried it again... still didn't work.
Ok, so my point is: for some people it does work. For others, not so much. I wound up going to a dermatologist (and got something that works). If you do try it, they have a 60 day free trial, I recommend that you do their free trial to see if it works for you.
If you do decide to use it, be aware that the lotion, although soft and smooth, can be very drying to your skin. The most you should use is about the size of a pea.
Good Luck.
