I don't think you understand what a defrager does.

As you download, install, delete items, programs, pictures, emails, etc. Space is used up on your hard drive. So imagine a file cabinet with say 1000 folders and you take papers in and out of all of them. After time, due to this the file draw gets unorganized, spaces appear, filers get out of order.

To defrag the drive just reshuffles the segments on the drive to be more organized so the processor can access them easier, quicker and without looking over items it doesn't need to.

Defraging does not remove spam, spyware, virus's, it does not improve the performance of your machine, make your web experience faster, it doesn't make games work better, or any other programs to work better.

It is just cleaning up for the processor. Should be done about twice a year....anything more than that and you are buying into some myth that it does something more.

Yes, there are better ones, but they are rarely needed. Only if you VERY heavily use your pc, downloading tons of stuff and constantly deleting many large files, or, if you are a true Geek who simply likes to "play" around with pc programs, you do not need anything more than the defragger that comes built-in to your system.

By far the best one I've found is Auslogics Disk Defrag. I use it weekly, and it is fast! Windows defrag is a dinosaur compared to it.
