I was wondering this last night- when you close your eyes and see black spots and dots swimming around, what causes it? Light exposure? Just curious!

I get that if I have my picture taken. Dont know exactly what that is. I called my friend megan, she is an opthamologist (eye doctor) she said its just your retina reacting to the brightness of light.
