My grandmother loved jewlery ,she always wore this one ring and the day she passed I grabbed the ring from her finger and wore it ever since.
Last weekend my husband and I rented at a hotel as a weekend get-away we drank so I was a little out of it, and something spilled on my finger so I took off the ring put it on the night stand to clean my hands... The following day I'm in the car and I grab the finger where the ring would usually be only to find it missing! My husband and I drive back to the Hotel but they said some one rented almost Immediatly after we left and no one has reported anything! I have not been able to stop crying I feel so irresponsible and shameful, the ring was not very expensive but it meant so much to me, and it kills me to think some other woman is wearing it without knowing its background!! What should I do? I cant just let it go. should I purchase a ring that reminds me of my grandmother and dedicate it to her or the impact she made in my life?

Better yet, why not take the money you were going to spend on the ring and donate it to a charity your grandma was involved with or supported? Doing something to honor her memory instead of replacing a Thing with another Thing might make you feel better.

That is a great idea. or you could let the people at the hotel know you are putting up a reward for the ring as it ment so very much to you.P.s Don't say the size of the reward just say BIG. Belive me if someone has it they will give it back if they think they are getting a BIG reward.Good Luck sweetie.

Yes..... the original ring is extremely important to you as it is the one your grandmother owned!!!...I understand this.......you can go back to the hotel and ask the owner to ask the staff to look for it a little more carefully and not to be accusative! offer a good affordable reward ..this might shake the memory of a staff person....ask the manager/owner if he would be kind enough to forward your concern of this special ring and ask him to have them the next tenants contact you...as he probably wouldn't and shouldn't divulge information about them to you...good luck...

and finally ...yes purchase a similar one so you can pass it down to the upcoming family members.....keep the tradition going.....

I'm afraid that as much as it hurts, you're going to have to let it go. Let your memories of your grandmother be your reminder. If you feel you need to wear something as a reminder or dedication to her memory, then see if you have any other jewelry of hers you could wear or alter into something you'd like to wear. If that's not possible and you still need to wear something then buying something to honour her is a possibility too. For me, I have pictures of my Nan around to keep her memory alive.
I wish you all the best. Don't feel irresponsible, what happened to you was an easy thing to do. Your grandmother understands!

I'm so sorry you lost your special ring..........something quite similar happened to me after my father died...................what a brilliant idea you've had. How about if you collected some old jewellery together that you don't really wear anymore and get the jeweller to melt all the gold/silver together and do it in the design you would like???.................Peace..........:)
