There is this woman that said she just got out of a relationship and wasn't ready to date yet. Three months later she says she likes me and wants to meet me.
When I meet her she says she's happy being free and likes that she only has to answer to herself. So I smile and asked her about FwB. She hugged me and said she really wanted to but she "just couldn't" Then she was afraid because she's never done anything like that before. She asked me to take it slow and be patient with her.
What do you think she meant by taking it slow and being patient?

Because it sounds to me like she interpreted the friends with benefits as a sort of relationship. She just got out of a relationship, and she is a little shy about getting into another one. Yes friends with benefits IS a relationship. She probably also is a little reluctant to be categorised as a "booty call".
The best thing you could do is to give her a little room, and be less available to her.
Bringing up friends with benefits on the first meeting was moving a little quickly for her. Be careful about how much time and energy you are willing to devote to her, because she is still in the relationship avoidance mode. She may develop into that, but only if she views you as the prize in the game.
Also, be very careful that this patience doesn't turn into a major investment of time, energy, or money. If it happens, it happens. And she may want to test drive potential friends before she settles into another relationship. If she genuinely were interested in that type relationship, she may want to know much more about you, to make certain that she can retain her independence, and actions speak much more effectively than words.

She wants sex, but not with only you. She needs to play the field and have sex with as many people as possible. Sometimes three and four at a time. If she's still clean after a year, she will be ready to move in with you.

I guess she means she wants to get to know you before she decides whether she will do the fwb.

she probably wants to get to know you better before anything. she might also be uneasy with the fact (the reason why her and her ex broke up) could happen to you to. if you dont want to wait for her, fine. but shes also still getting used to the fact that she and her ex arnt together anymore. and she probably misses him.

She still isn't ready. If you really like her give her time to find trust in you. Let her know that you're there for her. Get to know her, earn her love.
